Word to the wise: Sunday Brunch = $35.00 Coffee (which I was offered with out waitress mentioning a charge) $3.00 Seating...you might be seated downstairs or upstairs...meaning you will need to navigate stairs while balancing your plate of food. Reception to customer feedback: left a voicemail and management never returned the call:(

It's not just the meal. It's the destination. This place looks good inside out. Each room is different from the other, all exuding old world elegance. Our server Robert typifies service expected of this place. The dinner for 2 for $95 is a steal(see pics). I'll have the French onion soup followed by prime rib medium rare and end it with brownie with ice cream please. You can have your steak anyway you want as long as you don't mind getting it medium well. The prime rib nonetheless was still delicious. It came with excellent sides of mash potatoes and string beans. My wife had the crème brûlée. No complaints.

Pleasant brunch with friends. A bit surprised that the price jumped $10 over last month. As a result, our visits will occur less often.

Over priced for the quality and taste of food. Prime rib and steak were tough/fatty. Cheesy potato soup had no flavor. Menu doesn't tell you but you got mashed potatoes and uncooked green beans with each meal. Probably don't tell you because there were no other choices. Potatoes I think were red potatoes mashed but they had no flavor. Oh wait, I did order asparagus, not knowing it came with green beans, but I can't tell you how they were because I never got them. Save your money; go to Texas road house instead. Better food and less expensive I gave them three stars only because the mansion was kind of cool!!

THE SERVER BRANDY IS A THIEF! SHE ADDED OVER A $100 TIP TO OUR BILL AFTER PROVIDING HORRIBLE SERVICE FOR SO CALLED “FINE DINING”. We will be coming in to make a complaint and request a full refund of our bill and an apology from Brandy. She was rude to us and didn’t read us the specials of the day nor bothered to bring us a cocktail menu, lastly for one appetizer and two entrees our dinner took over two hours to come to the table that was shoved in the back of the restaurant and was cold. NOT TO MENTION THIS WAS FOR A RESERVATION THAT WE MADE 5 DAYS IN ADVANCE. SHE THEN PROCEEDED TO BRING US A BILL WITH STUFF ADDED THAT WASN’T OURS, okay suspicious but we caught it before paying and asked her to take off the suspicious appetizer, which she did and brought us a new check. We paid the correct amount and left the restaurant only for my husband to see that we was charged over $100 extra than our bill was made for. Brandy is a joke of a waitress and most definitely is a thief that needs fired. All to mention this was to celebrate Valentine’s Day as a couple :( Don’t go here anymore unless you want the waiters to steal from you. This was on 2/17/24. I would also like to note that I work in the food service industry so I know very well how a server is supposed to treat guests and this was far from exceptional and we probably won’t be coming back and if we do we won’t be seated with the thief, Brandy.

Atmosphere is Elegant pulls you into the nostalgia of what once was. The architecture is phenomenal here is your looking for a Castle Victorian Era vibe. The service was good however the waiter grabbed my plate for small appetizers plate' and pushed it over and place an a salad plate in front of me and said, "Here's the Proper plate." Dafaq? the small appetizers plate goes for the appetizers yoo. My Date and I looked at each like what just happened and laughed. Food was really good however the green beans were undercooked. Everything else was wonderful tbh. Definitely would love to come back for a lunch. Filet mignon with asparagus crab and hollandaise was Flame!?

I am actually kind of surprised to find so many good reviews. The place itself is beautiful, the service was great. The price and the food though, easily below average. We spent almost 200 all together so that gives an idea of the price. The “‘medium” steak was cooked for about 10 min too long, to where there was no pink in the middle. The shrimp appetizer was cold and bland. The dessert tasted like it was in a deep freezer for a year. The free bread was good at least. My husband and I got the point where we literally just had to laugh at it. The price simply doesn’t match the quality. Plenty of other places in South Bend that cost 1/2 of the price and are much better.

I ate here 15 years ago and was impressed. But I ate there tonight it wasn't good at all. Prime rib was horrible. Mashed potatoes were so so. Green beans were tuff. Sad the best thing was the rolls. Don't recommend it at all. No wonder why it wasn't busy there.

I specifically inquired whether they took rind off the brie and was assured they did. They didn't. Nobody likes a big mouthful of mold while eating...unless it's blue cheese. The server was clueless. Didn't know what anything was or meant, claimed to have been here 6 months, and said she didn't know how to work the espresso machine. You'd do much better tip wise if you had a clue. The prime was perfectly cooked, had a slight crust (not an impressive one), but the sides and accoutrements were unseasoned and flavorless. The hunk of meat was the highlight, which is unfortunate since prime isn't a difficult endeavor The fries weren't drained well, overly white in appearance with spots of brown. Clean sign that they weren't moved at all while frying. The sandwich was excellent; though, they charge a buck for cheese when one is leaving off bacon. Do we need to get that nickel-and-filet in a purported fancy restaurant? The building is absolutely stunning and classy. It's too bad they aren't making any attempt to make the food match the ambiance. They get an extra star because there were kids of an employee in the basement. Always support working parents! Mad kudos to the restaurant for that!

This was a really great experience. The atmosphere was historical and cozy. The employees were extremely kind and out of their way helpful. The structure is well maintained and lovely. The icing on the cake was the food. Very well prepared and served fresh. We spent an hour r wandering the mansion after we ate and were welcomed to do so. They also have a nice craft beer available. I would visit again.

We made a late lunch reservation for a party of ten (online - huge bonus). We had the lunch menu as well as the restaurant week menu, so options seemed endless! We all enjoyed our food, our server was great, and we even got a photo in front of the fireplace. It was an amazing experience, and we’ll be sure to come back!
