My husband and I LOVE waka dog! We have never gotten one bad meal there, and the owners are just so wonderful to come in and chat with! They are so creative with their food, and I have never had a sloppy Joe so FABULOUS in my life! You can order anything and I guarantee it'll be DELISH!

We were originally headed to Taphouse Bar & Grill, hungry and undecided, when we passed Waka Dog Cafe. Weāve always wanted to try itā and finally did. Let me tell you: if you havenāt been here yet, itās time to fix that!
If you're a hot dog loverā, or even just hot dog curiousā, Waka Dog Cafe is a must. These arenāt your average ballpark franks. Theyāre next-level dogs, bursting with flavor and creativity. And bonusā, they offer much more than just hot dogs.
Weāre a family of four, and we tried a variety of dishes (mostly hot dogs), and every single one was a flavor explosion. The menu is loaded with inventive combosā; spicy, savory, even sweetā. Itās clear they put serious love into every item. The crispy fries and ice-cold sweet tea sealed the deal.ā
Whether you're stopping in for a quick bite or planning a laid-back foodie outing, this place is pure hot dog paradise. We loved it so much, weāre already planning our next visitā, lunch next Tuesday!

I've been wanting to try them for quite some time. Today my gf and I made a point to go and I'm glad we did! We decided to try the Chicago dog and fries, steak tacos, chicken with rice soup and nachos. Everything was so good! You can tell the nachos and tacos were made by a Mexican because iykyk! Our server was very busy but we loved her customer service. They started getting super busy so you know they're doing something right. We will be back next Saturday when they have pozole!

Where do I beginā¦ my boyfriend and I had been on a long car ride from Indianapolis traveling north to the dunes for a quick romantic weekend camping getaway. Morale was high as we stopped for a nice walk around Notre Dameās campus, but of course we worked up a mighty appetite. Thatās when we came across the local GEM that is Waka Dog Cafe. The establishment is cute, quaint, and cozy with lots of character. We had the Classic Smash Burger, the Chicago Dog, and last but certainly not least The Quesabirria tacos. My boyfriend and I knew this was love at first bite. Aside from the amazing food this place has a wall full of classic board games that are sure to keep everyone in your party entertained for the entirety of your experience. We ended up playing Guess Who which was quite fun even though my boyfriend lied multiple times about who he had chosen on the final round leading to an awkward 38 minute car ride to our campsiteā¦. But I canāt emphasize enough how great the service was at this place! They really make you feel like family. 10 out of 10 would definitely Waka The Dog Again!

Waka Dog is my favorite fast casual restaurant in South Bend! Great hot dogs and authentic Mexican food and a huge menu of other options. Friendly and fast service!
Never been here before, today was a first for me. I was in the area and decided to stop in. Ordered a Chicago dog basket to go. Their sweet tea is perfect, the young lady that took my order was very pleasant, and I was probably in and out in maybe 6 minutes! They have nice little tables inside. Food was plenty and delicious. 10/10 will come here again.

Family owned business, so everything is authentic and made with love. I've only had one item that was boring/bland, but other than that, it's delicious. Definitely try the Chicago Dog!
Kid-friendliness: They have a shelf filled with board games and coloring books for the kiddos. They also have tvs, and when we walked in, the owner changed the tvs to Disney movies for the kids. It was very nice!

First time coming in tonight, my fiancĆ© was drawn in by the authentic Mexican taco sign š¤£š¤£ I looked at him so confusedā¦ tacos from the hotdog place š¤ actually was so surprised by the taste! Fantastic food, great Mexican food. The staff is amazing! Cute little place! Definitely will be back! Your waitress tonight was fabulous! Very friendly, very knowledgeable. Gave a great perspective of the history!
