I would avoid if you need any type of accomodations. The staff is not educated on how to handle folks with Service Dogs. I e would assume they do not work well with any other disabilities and or allergies.

I cannot even begin to explain fully into words my love for my first time experience with this restaurant. I don't easily get won over by a business and its services but CBC has proven what I desire does in fact exist. I am a history nerd to the extreme so their nod to the CCC history in the area is great. Their simplistic approach to decor is honestly refreshing in comparison to most places which overly decorate to overstimulate the senses. But to focus on the the most important aspect of the reason I leave this review, the food! The Civilian Burger is honestly one of the best burgers I have ever had. The bacon jam is honestly the best flavored bacon jam I have ever had. The combination on the burger itself was heavenly. The fries ordered crisp resulted in some of the best quality fries you can have. I was also able to sample the slaw they have which by the I REALLY need the recipe for because it has to be the best slaw I have ever had! The slaw has to be some of the best I have ever had but you must try it! 100% this place is the place to try if you are in the area!

First time here. I ordered online before I left work in Bloomington. It was ready by the time I got there (I had hoped I could schedule a pickup time but that was not available through the third party).I had the falafel salad, which was amazing! (As far as I know this is the only falafel in Spencer and I am so thankful to have these options.). They assembled the cold and hot separately so even the sit time did not change the quality. My custom options were correct and I did not have to pick off any.I will be back.Vegetarian options: Many options that are more than just cheese as the protein. Black bean burger, falafels, salads.Dietary restrictions: I am dairy free but not Vegan.
This is an outstanding place to hang out and eat some fine food…and have some mighty fine brews! It’s our favorite brew pub!

We stopped in on a motorcycle ride through Lawrence, Monroe, Owen and Greene Counties. I had the Civilian Burger and fries dressed with poutine. My husband had wings and fries dressed with beer cheese and bacon. The food was delicious. I didn’t love the beer options. A friend and I had two different beers that tasted so similar we thought our orders were mixed up. That didn’t distract from the food, though. With craft beer, I always figure you win some and lose some. The service was great, and we enjoyed visiting a new place.
