As an out of towner just passing through on the way home, it's always fun to pop in a local place when you don't know where you're at. The Freezer Cafe was this spot for me - from the moment I walked in I knew it would be a charming experience and it was! Sat at the counter and the staff was exceedingly friendly - didn't wait long at all to get ordered, didn't wait long to get served... all on a busy Sunday morning, too! The food was excellent, very reasonably priced, and the staff was very attentive to needs for refills and quality of the meal. Looking for an excuse to go through Tell City again just so we can stop here another time.

The Freezer Cafe is an outstanding representation of everything you would expect from a small town Indiana Diner. Good food, service, family atmosphere and price. Additionally, the Freezer continues to offer counter service which serves as a major draw for me.

The freezer restaurant is a excellent place to go eat at. Good home cooked meals and everything was made the way that we ordered it. Would go there again.

The freezer Cafe is a historical landmark for me. It has been in bussiness since the 50s and is a small little diner. The food is good, cheap, and usually quick. The service is great and the atmosphere is homey. My dad took me there as a kid, I took my boys, and I continue eating there a few times a week. We use to sit in the back and listen to the jukebox as kids. That is gone now but the memories remain

First time I have ever been here and was pleased with everything! I met the new owner who was ready to listen to any ideas on improving the business, which is great!! I liked it because it was just like one of the old time cafes. You know... where everyone knows your name ?. Give it a try. I bet you will enjoy it, too.

Went in for breakfast, walked in and the bar was FULL of dirty dishes staked up high. Sat at the other end of the bar as it was the only clean and open spot. The guy washing dishes got out drink order. The waitress kept walking by telling us she would be right back three times but never took our order. She took several other tables orders and some to go orders but never ours. It seemed she was the only waitress for the whole restaurant. She seemed to know everyone else in the restaurant so maybe she ignored us because we weren’t regulars. We finally laid money down for our coffee and left. Went to McDonalds down the road and it was a way better choice!

I have been going to the freezer since I was a kid. So for the past 40 years? Wow! The food is decent and cheap. Nothing is out of the ordinary but it is plain comfort food and a good price. Courtney is an amazing waitress and we see her once or twice a week. Just a small dinner that won't hurt your pocket.

Good diner eats and they have and old school counter top to take in all the activity for breakfast. Prices are ridiculously affordable to bring entire family out and not break the budget. German bologna sandwich was just over two bucks!! Everything hasbrowns were filled with diced ham, cheese, green peppers then smothered in gravy and maybe more in there for just over four bucks. Tell City is a quaint town and this diner is a gem. The path to the restaurant is interesting as you travel thru the stock room.
