Moved to Terre Haute from NYC and Eastern House satisfied our craving for Szechuan food! This is an expansive menu with lots of interesting and authentic options. Good prices and friendly service - don't hesitate to ask for recommendations. We'll be back!

The food was tasty and enjoyable, but the lady taking our order was quite unfriendly. When I followed up on our order, she seemed irritated when we asked. We’ve been waiting for nearly an hour, and since we had a kid with us, we wanted to check if they could serve her food soon. However, she refused to listen and kept talking. Despite this, we still left a good tip and apologized for our impatience, even though it wasn't our fault. This used to be one of our favorite places for Chinese food.

Great food. Limited but friendly staff. Doesn’t look like much on the outside, but food is worth it.

This was my first time ordering carry out from this restaurant. My order was ready in no time. The service was very friendly and fast. The atmosphere is very nice as well. I had the Orange chicken, egg drop soup and vegetable
lo mein. The serving size was ample enough for 3 ppl. The price was reasonable for all the food I got. My only complaint would be that the Orange chicken was not spicy at all. It was still very good though. I would definitely recommend eating at this restaurant.

I ordered the pho and by the looks of it. It looks ok but the broth was not the color I was expecting and the taste was so bad. It didnt taste like pho at ALL. the worst Pho i ever had. It just tasted like beef broth instead of that cinnamon flavor Pho is supposed to to have. The broth was suppose to be darker as well. This broth was LIGHT. and I was expecting meat slices. But they had fake meat or something. Will never come here again. They don’t have any kids meal or smaller portions as well. And the whole pho was for $14. Ive had better pho with bigger portions for only $11. This was something only people who dont really know about asian cuisine would like.

Unbelievably delicious food, very clean upscale restaurant but casual. Food made to order, large portions enough for 2 really. Also the new bubble tea is awesome, especially the Brown Sugar Latte Bubble Tea, basically desert. Affordable as well. Chicken and Broccoli is like $12. with soup and rice. Nice place for lunch or bring the family for dinner. Enjoy

After looking at their rating of 4.6, I thought that their food was going to be amazing. Boy, was the ratings wrong.
This food was the worst that I've had in a while.
The first dish was the Thai Green Curry. This dish was watered down to pretty much a liquid soup and wasn't the thick curry that I was expecting.
Second was the Pho. It has absolutely no flavor. Looks like they just boiled water and added a hint of beef flavor to it. There were no tastes at all.
The last dish was the Gad Pad Bai Grabrow lunch special. This dish was decent and was the only edible dish that was shared between three people.
The soup we chose with our dishes was wonton and sweet and sour. They were very bland as well.
I went there when they just opened up for 30 minutes and there were only 3 people.
Overall experience was ok. The cashier lady was very kind but won't be going back there.

Eastern House is a hidden gem for Asian food. Large menu with a mix of Asian dishes. Always prepared well with quick service. Be cautious of the spicy dishes as their level of hotness, which they can adjust for you, is higher than what you may think. Always good food though. Inside the restaurant is clean and we'll kept. Food is served on real dishes.
