Jim Dandy has been a Tipton Staple! Great food with quality rotating specials. You can count on great Midwestern style food with a small town Budget and Friendly Face ?

Kid-friendliness: Kid menu, kids eat free, and raffles for children sometimes. Very kid oriented and family friendly.

Catfish special with a potato. Catfish very small pieces but could order more. First order was just barely warm, 2nd order was brought out promptly but was cold. Potato was cold would not even melt the butter. Salad was as it should be fresh and cold.

The food tasted all canned, the chicken was dry, just everything about it was very subpar. No seasoning, just bland. Seems like the target audience is older folk. If you’re into that, then this is the spot for you.

Waitress was pleasant enough but there was a lot of tables and chairs moving. Getting ready for a large group but it absolutely added chaos to the atmospher.

I went here for their breakfast bar. Boy! Was it delicious! Biscuits and gravy, pounds of bacon and smoked sausage and eggs! Oh! There were other things, too. French toast, donuts, fried mush.
But the best part of my experience? The server, I wish I could remember her name. My coffee cup never even got close to empty. Very attentive and kind. Smiling and talking to all the customers in our area. I stayed an extra half hour just to drink coffee and visit.

No matter how good the food is, the staff and atmosphere make the experience. I can go 300 yards away and still find good food. And I would do just that, if the service was lacking. And it is not lacking here! Good job, Jim Dandy staff.

Go every Tuesday with family. Most all good food. Sometimes, some of the sides come out to cold. Green beans and Mac and cheese need to be served hot.

Great food & cold AC, all things considered, their home-cooked menu style is still nearly as good as it was in the 80's & 90's back when there were many many more Jim Dandys all over Indiana. In regards to the companie's former size & profitability margins, having a total of only two corporate stores now is a far cry from the former state of the company that used to have a restaurant in nearly every Indiana town with a population of 5k or more. All things considered, they still get 5 stars in this book.

Parking: Open & free parking lot with more than enough spaces to have the restaurant completely filled, along with a line of diners sitting & waiting in the bar or restaurant for 45 minutes, the parking lot would still have a fair amount of spots.

Kid-friendliness: They have a great kids menu, & for a limited time, from 4-10pm children 12 & under eat FREE with every adult meal purchased. They also have crayons, paper, and small board games for children

Wheelchair accessibility: Since July 26th, 1990, it's been law for all private businesses & corporations with more than a certain minimum number of employees to be forced to build all accommodations deemed as, "necessary,"
by those whose administration fees received for their constant votes of "Yes" for "Expansion."

The staff are always friendly and helpful. Nice clean place, prices are affordable for families and the elderly.
Fried chicken is amazing, and the soup/ salad bar is a great addition to any meal. Always a good time at the Tipton Jim Dandy!

Everything was great until we got home and realized we didn't get the Strawberry/Rhubarb pie we asked for, instead they gave us a Strawberry pie. My wife even asked if the pie the waitress was giving us was Strawberry/Rhubarb and she said yes.

We had burgers and tenderloins, and they were both very good. Service was excellent. We also liked the price, so we'll definitely go back.

Vegetarian options: They also have a salad bar.
