I was traveling to that area there for some work and the first time I dined in it was a total nightmare. People were waiting for their food and take outs for over an hour and vibes were not good in that place. People were not happy at all and rightfully so. They are always short staffed it seems and the customers suffer. The second time I weren't in I knew better so took it to go. The third time I just went in the other evening I dined in again giving them another chance. I order an entree pad se ew and they bring my meal in a to go container and set it down. I was like?!? Can I please get a plate. Nope the waitress said they stop using plates. In my 52 years eating out I never went to a restaurant that couldn't supply a plate when dining in! 🤪🤪🤪 I literally asked for it to go and went to the local Walgreens and bought paper plates and ate in a park at 9pm just to have what I needed to enjoy my meal. The waitress said they can't find help and their dishwasher is broken or something like that. It's a hot mess for sure and a shame because the food is actually pretty decent. I hope they get their act together because if they continue to operate like this they shi don't even be in business sadly.

I was really disappointed with this restaurant. The food was terrible — lacking flavor and quality. On top of that, when we asked for more spicy sauce, the staff gave us attitude instead of simply helping. One employee even threw a fit when we politely offered to pay extra for the sauce. Very unprofessional and unpleasant service. Definitely not coming back.

This place served us rotten sushi and when I sent it back, they still made us pay for it. It tasted absolutely fishy and rotten and disgusting.
Also, I find it extremely weird that a sushi place does not serve alcohol like sake. Sushi and sake go hand in hand.
I would never recommend this place to anybody that I like. The one waiter that was working was extremely inattentive and did not seem to care that he was serving us rotten food.
For the life of me, I cannot figure out why this place is so highly rated . Yuck.

N6 Khao soi, E5 Crab fried rice, crispy moon app and Cali roll. All was very delicious. The Khao Soi is perfect if you want full flavor and little spice. Atmosphere is relaxed and service was good. Will come back to try Ramen next. Aug 29,2025 👍👍

The food was delicious! They were closing for their lunch break and we were either going to wait an hour or find other lunch accommodations. Staff came outside and invited us in during their lunch time. The sushi was delicious and looked like a piece of art. Service was excellent. This place is a hidden gem in Valparaiso northside.

Very nice restaurant. It was recommended to me and we will be going back. The Thai Teas were tasty, we loved the various appetizers and the main courses were fantastic. Portions are large (we all took boxes home). I had Drunken Noodles with chicken. Can't wait to return .

What can I say? Bangkok Thai & Sushi is one of my absolute favorite places to enjoy not just amazing food, but also family time and good fellowship. The staff truly feel like family — always warm, welcoming, and kind. Every visit has been nothing but positive, and the consistency keeps me coming back.
My go-to dish is the Pad Woon Sen — it’s always fresh, hot, and made to order. The portion sizes are generous and the food reheats perfectly the next day, which I appreciate! If you love dessert, the mango sticky rice is a must-try, especially when mangoes are in season — it’s the perfect sweet ending. When they’re not, I recommend the green tea ice cream sundae topped with their homemade fresh raspberry syrup — absolutely delicious.
I also recommend trying the Pad Thai, green iced tea, and of course, a classic Thai iced tea. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, making it easy to relax and enjoy your meal. Bangkok Thai & Sushi is truly a staple here in Porter County — they’ve earned my support for life!
If you haven’t tried it yet, do yourself a favor and go.
