Blackbird Cafe has great food and fantastic coffee. The breakfast bagel and the chicken pesto panini were delicious! The patio was nice and cozy (our two small dogs were always just barely out of the way) and it was very busy inside for a Saturday brunch. Definitely busy because of the high quality, though!

Not only did I see a dead wasp on the corner of the window while I was trying to enjoy my bagel which was burnt and my coffee was served cold!? How is this even possible!? I also ordered oat milk and got plain, as someone with a high lactose intolerance I PAID LATER. MY BOWELS!!! Would not recommend ☹️

Fantastic little coffee bar that serves really good food. Everything has an actual human touch to it rather than the microwaved nonsense you get at the chains.
Yogurt parfait, oatmeal, and the afagatto were incredible. Fresh ingredients and hand made. My compatriots had equally excellent experiences with their sandwiches and some kind of iced coffees.
Inside and outside seating is decent (chairs outside are not for the bony).
Gluten free alternatives for breads as well!

Cafe food was fresh and tasty. I ordered the Cafe Special with a side salad. My wife and I also split a slice of Key Lime pie. The flavors all worked well together and the food was extremely fresh. The slice of pie was probably the best tasting Key Lime I've ever had. My only suggestion would be maybe to put the Cafe Special on a thinner type of bread because some of the pesto flavors got lost with all the bread. Price was normal and expected for a place such as this. $31 for 2 sandwiches with sides and 1 slice of pie. We will definitely be back to try some more menu options.

If you're looking for a place to just chill and have a simple breakfast this is the place to be. My friend and I enjoyed their omelet sandwiches and some pastries. Coffee was 10 out of 10. Absolutely love the vibes and the people there.

A little cafe by the road with unbelievable traffic of diners. Mostly for a quick bute, a quick chat with friends. I like that it was dog friendly and you can hang out in the patio without being rushed. They have a good selection of pastries and some quick sandwiches. Coffee was perfect.
Maybe the strongest cortado in Valpo, and the niftiest glass, with a metal base and handle. Nice atmosphere. I like the used books lying around for perusal. Be sure to check for interesting specials.
