Welcoming and quick on their feet, the team here creates a warm, upbeat atmosphere. The star of my breakfast was the green eggs and ham sandwich—a flavorful balance of salty ham, fresh pesto, and rich avocado. For roughly $11, it’s an affordable way to unwind after the gym. Beyond the main menu, their golden pastries and decadent pies are a dream for anyone with a sweet tooth.
Blackbird Cafe has great food and fantastic coffee. The breakfast bagel and the chicken pesto panini were delicious! The patio was nice and cozy (our two small dogs were always just barely out of the way) and it was very busy inside for a Saturday brunch. Definitely busy because of the high quality, though!
I was here years ago to wish a dear friend goodbye. She was moving from Valpo to California. I stopped by yesterday with another friend after going to see the Hannell's exhibit at Porter County Museum. I won't let that amount of time pass by again before I return!
