It's taking me a little bit to think about how I want to review Martini's. I am new to the area and was looking for a nice restaurant to go to with great food. The atmosphere and the food were fantastic. Unfortunately the server was not very good at all. If I ever go back there, I will specifically ask not to have that server. Asked us if we wanted bread and never brought us any, did not learn the specials beforehand and had to read it off of a sheet, didn't go over the desserts with us, as the server for the other tables did and we overheard that server explaining the desserts. When we asked for a specific dessert, it was gone already. Oh and the person I was with wanted a specific salad, and that salad was out, we asked for a different one, and the server said there would be an upcharge for that. Why is it that the salad that came with the meal was unavailable, then the salad substitute should not be an upcharge. The food is absolutely fantastic there, but I was just really disappointed in my first experience there.

My Mother & I had a wonderful lunch at Martini’s today in Valparaiso. We started with their delicious blue crab fondue with parmesan toast points. Definitely would stop in there again for this! The side salad was generous and well made. It was served with a sesame roll. I had their Roman crusted chicken with parmesan risotto and their delicious mixed vegetables. My Mother had their butterfly shrimp with house chips and mixed vegetables. All of the food we ordered was in generous amounts, enough that we both took some home. We then split homemade peach and blueberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream! Delicious! They also have a large selection of flavored cheesecakes! We both had ice cold water to drink and it was very good! Valparaiso water usually tastes awful to us. Our server was very friendly and answered all our questions. We both liked her positive attitude! Her name is Cashlee. Wonderful family owned business!

Sad to write this because we had lunch there a month ago and was really good. We went to dinner on a Saturday and the service was awful. It took 30mins to get our drinks and part of the order was messed up. The shrimp scampi was like chewing on a lemon because that’s all you tasted. My wife ordered a Portabella mushroom sandwich to get an undercooked steak and medallion's. When we said the order was messed up the waitress said she would adjust the bill. The adjustment was taking off the steak and medallions and putting on the Portobello sandwich that she should have received. Terrible terrible terrible. We will erase this place from our places to eat.

Wednesday is my favorite day to stop by this restaurant and bar, bc it is 1/2 price bottle wine night& No worries if you don't finish your bottle there, you can take the rest home. Delicious Food and Friendly service too!
