Had schwarma there with my group of friends a few days ago. Great place, very very good food. Talked with owner a lot after and was a very nice guy. Unfortunately he's closing shop, in part due to customers, which is really unfortunate. We all had a blast though and was a really fun time. Falafel was very good too.

Awesome food and super nice owner! Seriously, the food slightly better than Basil Thai, Taste of India, Blaze BBQ, etc nearby, all of which are already really good. It is the owner, though, that makes it a cozy experience. As a male runner, I can also say the generous portions are a nice bonus.Note that the owner gives undue warning of the wait time if you do not order food ahead of time. Personally, I just insist on waiting. If you have time to sit in, this is the best dinner place in Chauncey.Vegetarian options: A decent amount of options, all very good.

Sam, the owner is such a genuine person willing to share his experience with us. We enjoyed the food so much and the free dessert was amazing. Wish him good luck in all his future endeavors!

Grabbed takeout from here tonight - above and beyond experience! Food was excellent and tasted like a home cooked meal. Staff was so friendly I don’t even know how to describe. While waiting in the lobby for our order to be packed we were greeted promptly and offered free juice sodas while we waited. The staff also included a free order of baklava and the amount of food in each appetizer was more than expected (great bang for your buck)! We both had the wrap it your way with chicken shawarma and have no complaints. Worth your time to stop here for a meal if you find yourself in West Lafayette!

First time coming, but it was AMAZING! The man, who I assume is the owner, was so sweet and hooked us up with some extra goodies :) I got the chicken shwarma, hummus, pita, and lentil soup and omggg sooooo good! New favorite place :)?

This place was awesome. Got takeout from here and the food was amazing. Wasn’t white washed tasted like it was made with love and authentic. Hummus was great, grape leaves excellent, and the lamb/chicken shwarma was top tier too. Seen a bunch of reviews about the owner, but as I was waiting for no more than 5 mins for my food he offered me a complimentary juice and threw in a free baklava as well. Really nice guy. Great food, great service. Hidden gem of Purdue restaurants 10/10 recommend

If I had the option to rate this place with negative stars that would have been appropriate. The owner is unhinged, very racist, rude, passes loose comment on women, scares and attacks customer personally, threats to use guns and courts to attack customers and what not. And all this just if someone gives him 1 star (on Google reviews and such). According to him customers are flies and bugs if they don't follow his mood. Coming to his place...seems to be owned by someone else and he has taken over. I don't care about his personal stuff but his attitude needs a hammering by courts, cops and other institutions in the US. I can't believe such a place is operational at Purdue University at the heart of a campus that hosts students and folks from 130 countries. My friend and colleague from Italy and myself went to this place after 5-6 years. Last we went was in 2017-18 when the owners were different and way nicer. Also, I have been to this restaurant for more than 50 times in my 12 years here and many times I was with my Indian cricket friends after we won games. My friend and I chose to go here in first week of April just to have a change and eat good food. We went based on our previous experience, which was mostly very good. Google said Dine in was open, the signs outside this place said the store is open, the door was also open, and we saw a couple going inside to eat. The restaurant was empty and it felt we were one of the first customers. I am from India and went inside with my Italian friend. I said: Seat for 2, please. This guy has absolutely no smile and looks at us with anger. We both were surprised as if we stole something. He says: You neglected all the signs. We looked at each other and shrugged. We said: Ok! Sorry, that we missed the signs. Before we can ask some more about how to get food, he says: It is not ok. You are interfering with my business and disturbing my customers. Apparently there was a small sign on the main door handwritten which we can barely read that said we need to place the order first and then come. We again said: Ok, we are sorry, but we didn't know. Then he says again: It is not ok. So all these words with anger he said only to me and not my Italian friend. I was closer to him than my friend, but still he always looked only at me with anger and hatred. I could sense his hate for my kind as I have dealt with racism before. I said to myself that this is tip of the iceberg. He definitely has some more against Indians. I also wanted to reason with him and couldn't record any of this. I went again the next day with my camera as I am also a content creator. I just wanted to reason with him and tell why he is so rude to customers. He could also say in a nicer way to ask us to be out and we will oblige. I like following rules, but don't like this rudeness. When I went again he again shoed me out. This time of course he was more furious than before. But that actually helped to expose more of his inside hatred. He mocked Indian language and also called me Indian in a derogatory way. I shouted at him back using swear words, which he started first and then I recorded everything. My swear words were to expose him more because he opened his hatred for Indians a bit more. Eventually, I gave him 1 star on Facebook and he as usual had a verbal diarrhea there which is still available for anyone to read. He called Indians idiots, monkeys, people with a certain smile, mocked our names, faces, flag and what not. He is supremely racist, which is what I sensed in my first conversation with him. He is married with 2 kids but passes loose remarks on girls. He even mocked other country folks like some US citizens and a Vietnamese I know. He is rude to all, racist to many and has a special hatred for Indians. He even scared and traumatized kids when he starts jumping on cars for parking at his place even when his store is closed. His way of dealing with the community is pathetic. I think he either needs to be in a mental hospital or in prison. He also seems to hold radical thoughts displ

Extremely rude and racist owner. Tried to kick on of my friends when we protested why he wasn’t letting us enter even when the sign says open. I hope he ends up in Jail

This restaurant is top. My fav in Purdue. The food tastes so good and feels healthy. The Kebab combos is always my go to as well as the lentil soup and the hummus with pita chips. The service is always so kind and attentive when I come here and the restaurants environment is calm and homey. 100000% would recommend <3.

I am a HUGE fan of mediterranean food, and this did not disappoint. The hummus was one of the best i’ve ever tried and was even better than most of the ones I’ve had in Greece. I did a carry out meal, and the food was ready early, and the Owner gave me a free drink and dessert with my meal. The falafel was out of this world, and you get huge portions for the price. I think this is the best mediterranean food in West Lafayette

I come here every time I'm in town. The best Mediterranean food I've had.Lots of meat entrees. Also lots of vegan and vegetarian options.Absolutely the best falafel ever.

My wife and I were passing through town and were actually going to Pot Belly. The parking for both restaurants are horrible being in a college town, on the street. We tried to park on the side street, Alley, in a Pot Belly spot, but being in a Full-size Pickup on the very side I could not get into one of their dedicated spots. So, I pulled into one of the Blue Niles 5 spots, for a late afternoon quick lunch, so we could get back on the road. Someone from the Blue Nile came out and was asking if we were just picking something up and how long we would be. If it was during a rush lunch time and busy, I would understand. But every spot for them was empty, and was still empty 20 minutes later when we left Pot Belly! Just didn’t appreciate the rudeness!! We Will Never visit their restaurant for sure.

Myself, husband and 2 young kids ate here. It was truly incredible!! The food had so much flavor, everything we tried was phenomenal. The owner was amazing to us, he made my kids feel so special and his positive attitude made the experience that much better. I loved that he let us know how long everything was going to take when we were ordering, it was absolutely worth the wait!! I wish nothing but the best for him and his business. We will definitely be back and recommend it to anyone looking for a place to eat!
