Chicken was dry, sweet and sour sauce tasted like vinegar,. Crab rangoon were small with little filling.
Egg roll was greasy. Just not a great experience.

Excellent and friendly service! I found the Japanese sizzling tofu to be a great vegetarian option.

Food was good but understaffed. Took a very long time to get our food, but our server was nice.

Great service. I went in and told them make me something with chicken and a lot of garlic. They didn't disappoint. For those who get fried rice with Asian food. You're missing out. The white rice may be simple but it is THE staple. It's tasty and complements everything. I ended up getting chicken in garlic sauce with extra garlic. I felt it a little too on the nose for the request but I'm not complaining. It was great. Thanks for the food. いただきます. "Yes I know it's a Chinese restaurant but the name is Oishi damn it."

Oishi Chinese Restaurant has the best Chengdu chili chicken that I have ever had. Their other dishes including Singapore noodles are excellent. I have been eating here since 2017 and it is a go to destination anytime I am driving through West Lafayette. Always a joy to find a restaurant that has better food than any in Chicago.

The food is ok and the portions are quite generous. The prices are modest and the food is very fast. Perhaps the level of sugar in the sauces -- way higher than I prefer -- is customary for the Szechuan style, which seems to dominate the menu. One point sticks out from my experience yesterday, Friday of finals week, at 3pm, is that as I was preparing to leave, I spent time in the ladies' restroom and after washing my hands I found that the towel dispenser would not dispense, and there were no other towels. I mentioned this to the young man who had waited on me, and he said "oh, towel machine broken." I asked if there were other paper towels that could be supplied and he repeated "towel machine broken."
Vegetarian options: Didn't explore them but I saw the menu mention several at least.
Parking: Probably fills up more when it's not the last day of finals week, and not middle of the afternoon
Kid-friendliness: Not really anything for children to play with or on, not sure if they have crayons or coloring pages.

My dining experience at Oishi Chinese restaurant warrants a solid four stars. The food, while decent, stood out for its generous serving sizes, providing ample portions that left me satisfied. The menu offered a variety of options, and the portions were notably generous, making it a good value for the price. Whether you're a fan of classic Chinese dishes or looking to explore new flavors, Oishi has something to offer. However, the atmosphere was a bit on the bland side. While the focus should rightfully be on the food, a more engaging ambiance could enhance the overall dining experience. The restaurant's decor and ambiance were functional but lacked the character that could elevate the dining atmosphere. In conclusion, Oishi Chinese restaurant is a solid choice if you're in search of a place with decent Chinese cuisine and hearty portions. While the atmosphere might be a bit lacking in excitement, the satisfying serving sizes and overall good food make it a reliable option for a satisfying meal.

The food is authentic and delicious here. It may be too authentic that my son could not like the spicy popcorn Chichen, which he used to like. It has a lot of taste of numbness and spices, which my husband and I liked it a lot. We then ordered sesame chicken with broccoli for him. He loved it. BTW, they charge 15% gratification fee and no convenience fee. I read a review from another Asian restaurant mentioned they automatically charged 18%+credit card convenience fee. I assumed all the restaurants here were like that before choosing this one. I highly recommend this restaurant!
