Super cute, trendy new restaurant in West Lafayette. Beautiful, modern décor including a section with "honeycomb" seating for a more intimate and private dining experience. Great for date nights! The servers are all friendly and helpful with menu recommendations and very attentive to their guests. I have been twice and tried different items each time and haven't had a single item disappoint yet. Prices are reasonable considering the dining experience and food quality, especially with the economy. 10 out of 10, highly recommend. Even if you just try it one time, you'll be glad you did!

Great decor. Fantastic food. Love the hexagons. We had the Okonomiyaki appetizer which was crazy because the onions kept waving around in the air long after it arrived at our table. I think it was due to the humidity of the plate. It wasn't hot. It was like the thing was alive. Yes, it was tasty too.

During my travels to Indiana, we stumbled across this izakaya. The outside is pretty nondescript but the inside is clean & modern. The food overall is good and sushi was fresh. Definitely a good spot if you are in West Lafayette.

On Saturday 3/9/24 at 4:30pm my family had the most fantastic dinner at Sakanaya!!! Our waitress Zabzi is most welcoming, friendly, great sense of humor, filled our drinks often, and was very attentive!!! Best waitress ever!!! The decorative modern Japanese art is beautiful!!! The lighting and modern Japanese design are just amazing!!! The Chicken Katsu was about the most delicious meal we’ve ever had!!! Although my daughter would say it was the tangerine chicken!!! The miso soup, salad, and zucchini appetizer was also delicious!!! We love this place!!! We are so happy we found this wonderful new restaurant!!!Today is 3/16/24 Saturday we again dined at Sakanaya at 2:30pm. We were most fortunate to have Zabzi as our waitress again!!! Zabzi is very helpful, friendly , patient and attentive!!! There were many new sushi specials which Zabzi very patiently answered all my husband’s questions about. He decided to try the new red snapper sushi which he loved!!! My husband also loves the monster roll here!!! He also had edamame and the delicious house salad with the most fantastic ginger dressing you’ve ever tasted!!! I ordered the delicious Chicken Katsu again my favorite, I couldn’t decide between the delicious miso soup (best miso soup I’ve ever had or the freshest house salad with the best ginger dressing I’ve ever tasted so I ordered both!!! My daughter is just like me a creature of habit and ordered the delicious tangerine chicken with the fabulous house salad!!! Zabzi again spoiled us with excellent service and a most delightful sense of humor!!! This place just became one of our favorite restaurants!!! We will be back again and often!!!

A fun new sushi location for West Lafayette that transformed the old Wing Stop location. The service was excellent, from greeter to wait staff. The food was good with many options. The honeycomb seating is the star of ambiance. The restaurant is surprisingly large and spacious. I would visit again and sample different menu items. The staff were delightful and efficient.

We went here on a weekday afternoon, so it wasn't very busy. The interior is very unique and part of the experience. We ordered 4 different sushi rolls. All were good. Server was a little slow coming around, but she appeared to be the only one working in the dining area we were seated in. The only con was that there were lunch specials listed, but when the bill came we were charged full price.

Wanted to try the new steak house. I was so happy I did. Everything was great. We ordered so much. We were really trying to get a feel of everything. We ordered the sampler and loved every bit of it. Then we got chicken karaage, and it was amazing perfectly cooked dark meat chicken. We also got shrimp skewers they were amazing as well. My husband didn't like them as much as me. Then we got potato and veggie croquettes, and they were good. I wasn't a huge fan, but I enjoyed Them. For our entree, we both got the A 5 waygu with rice and quail egg and miso soup. I really enjoyed the steak it was prepared perfectly . The only thing I could conplain about was our waitress,she was kinda rude, but maybe it was just a bad day for her. That won't be stopping me from coming in again. I'm super happy I got to try some amazing food .
