This is basic Motel 6 type lodging and survives because there are limited lodging choices in the area of Purdue University. This hotel, or more appropriately, motel, does not meet Marriott customer expectations or standards. It's in complete disrepair and appears to be disserted with landscaping undone, giving an appearance of real safety concerns. Upon check-in, the front desk personnel were helpful and were ready for my arrival. Then things just got worse...I could not gain entry to the room even though the key card worked, but the safety lock from within must have been latched. The front desk advised that I return to the room and Push Up while trying to open it, as this is a known issue. I just asked for a replacement room which was the last one available. This room was plagued with problems as two of the light fixtures with power points were bad, making charging anything beyond two items impossible. The room lacked shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The only amenities were a very small bar of soap. The Pros - Across the street from the Walmart and near some shopping - Could use 22.5K points to book a single night - The bed was very comfortable The Cons - Old outdated furniture - Plugs did not work - Property cascades a feeling of being unsafe and not maintained - No breakfast - No food service - Bathroom appeared to be dirty, with the metal fixtures showing rust - TV did not have broadcast channels: NBC, ABC, CBS, just cable - upon check out never received an email/receipt, although it was paid with points. As a Marriott Titanium Platinum and ultra-loyal to the brand, I Recommend even Marriott members avoid this property and consider an alternative hotel brand even if you don't have status.
Marriott needs to pull the franchise tag. We circled the parking lot laughing before walking in. We went inside and nobody at the front desk. We thought zombies might come out from the corners. Dirty, moldy, disgusting. The reviewer that said knew high weeds… the weeds are now over my head. No restaurants or kitchen open (per the gross signs). When I told the front desk worker (after she arrived while we were on the phone with Marriott) we weren’t staying, she kindly nodded and understood. This must be a management that’s waiting for some foreclosure or something to justify scraping and selling the property. It’s a great location. They would do better to rent out spots in the parking lot for football games. It’s cleaner outside among the weeds. Still laughing at how ridiculous this place is. I only wish o could write the review on Marriott- but I would have to stay there. Honestly, I’m not sure if I would stay there if they paid me $500/night.
This is the most disgusting hotel I’ve EVER stepped my feet in!!!!!! I’m traveling from out of town ALONE for work**** Then i get here after driving 11hrs all i wanted was to shower and lay down!!!!!! My first room was on the 3rd floor no air then they switched me to another that had clogged drains so the tub ended up overflowing! The last room was small and shower was dirty!!!!!! Everything is old and outdated and ***UNDER CONSTRUCTION***!!! I paid in full for the first week however everyday after i paid they were trying to charge my account every day! I spoke a few staff members including the MANAGER. Which i was reassured that no other charges would hit my account. The second week i spoke with the manager AGAIN due to the SAME issue she said that the system randomly pick rooms to do an authorization hold! Mind you when i spoke with her it was on Sat 7/22/2023 and at this time I had just paid for another week. By wed 7/26/2023 469.11 was put on hold. When i spoke with the manager about the SAME ISSUE AGAIN she was being all nasty and smart as if my money being taken wasn’t her concern! I left on 7/28/2023 and I have yet to receive my 469.11 & the two $25 incidental fees that I was charged.
First of all, I sat in the car wondering if I should go inside. The parking lot and gardens are full of knee high weeds. Inside I was greeted with with dated, shabby decor, stained couches, and a leaking moldy hallway that was poorly covered up by a hanging curtain and a table. The room was okay, but upon close inspection the corners are grimy and outlets are smudgy. Do not stay here. It’s not worth the $150 a night they charge. I’m with a previous reviewer… Marriott should be ashamed.
I’ve stayed over 300 nights with Marriott. This is the worst condition property I’ve seen. The place is a dump, it’s dirty, things are broken throughout the room, the linens were soiled, it’s loud, the AC is obnoxious, the beds are small, and the restaurant is closed. I don’t know how this place is associated with Marriott.
My husband, daughter, and I recently stayed at the Four Points in West Lafayette because we were attending an event at Purdue. We arrived at midnight and our rooms had been given away so we were two given two separate rooms. My husband stayed in one and my daughter and I in another. When my daughter and I woke up, our legs felt itchy. I had a big bite on the back of my knee. I took a shower and discovered many more red bites up and down the left side of my torso. We told the front desk and showed them pictures of the bites and they agreed to get us a new room. However, as our day at Purdue went on, more bites popped up and the itchiness grew. We just couldn't go back to the same hotel. We did go back and explain our feelings and to check out. The front desk did not give us a hard time, but also were completely unfazed and didn't care much. This tells me that this happens often at this hotel. To me, a report of bug bites from your hotel bed would be a bigger deal. As we waited at the front desk for the manager to come, I looked down at the floor and it was really dirty. This whole hotel is kind of dirty. As other reviews have stated, it is dingy and in desperate need of deep cleaning and updating. Both the exterior and interior are rundown. Definitely not up to the standards of a hotel owned by Marriott. Please do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.
Let’s start with the positives- hotel’s proximity is great. And when I arrived, the staff was very helpful and polite. That’s about it. As many have stated, this hotel is outdated and not appealing. Everything feels dark. My room’s air conditioner sounds like a plane coming up to speed. The room’s tub is dirty enough that I looked for shower shoes at the Walmart across the street. Website does NOT list that the restaurant is closed or that there is no breakfast available anymore. Parking lot has large potholes. My door’s handle was even a problem. Will never stay here again. Lesson learned! (Always check trip advisor before booking).
This was once a nice place. The facility would be beautiful if it were maintained. However it has been poorly maintained, and many of the amenities claimed are not present. The restaurant and bar have been closed for months. They discontinued any form of breakfast while I was staying there (with no warning). There is no gift shop. There are conference facilities but they look like they have had event less maintenance than the Hotel.
The hotel was in the location I needed, but it is not nearly as appealing as hotels I've stayed in closer to Lafayette. I would not choose this hotel again: 1. there was no maidservice on our second day; 2. hotel hallways were not vacuumed, generally not very clean; 3. pool is outdated and small; 4. breakfast buffet is below quality most you could have anywhere, and costs $9.00; 5. Hotel desk staff ok although they didn't come to desk despite seeing me stand there til I rang the bell...also kept asking me why I was visiting which I declined to answer. Maybe a social skill problem or they were told to inquire, I'm not sure. Furniture in room broken, lobby quite ugly. Anyway, can't recommend and not especially cheap.
The only good thing about this hotel is its location to Purdue. This hotel has not been updated since 1990 and they dont care about cleanliness. They also lack staff, at 3:45 on Sunday we were locked out of our room, and no front desk agent around for 15 minutes to make sure new keys. The breakfast buffet was not appealing so I choose an English muffin after two bits I noticed it was moldy. Of course, I could keep going but will stop here.

Well we never made it there for a stay. Why? Because the day before our parents weekend reservation we got a letter that we would NOT be able to check in until after the football game… which starts at 7:00 pm… because the football team was taking up the entirety of the hotel tge night before and would not be departing until 5:00 pm! Our kid is in the marching band and their performance and family activities starr well before then! Do I want tic check in with hundreds of other people at 11:30 at night? Nope. No apologies just “unfortunately we have a contract and cannot begun to clean until 5:00. We will comp you a breakfast and extend checkout to 1:00 pm”. Ummmm not what I was gonna pay for. Terrible horrible experience. STAY AWAY from this place.
My husband and his friend had just biked 500 miles across Iowa and slept in tents for 11 days. They wanted to sleep in beds on their drive home, so my husband booked this Four Points by Sheraton as we are loyal Marriott customers. He checked in on the Bonvoy app and also let the front desk know that they would be arriving late. Imagine his shock when they arrived at the hotel around 11:30pm and were told by the front desk that they don’t have a room for him. Now, I understand that hotels “walk” customers when they are oversold, but no one bothered to call my husband ahead of time to let him know. Marriott policy also requires the hotel to pay for a room at another hotel, which the Four Points didn’t do. The front desk told him to go to their “sister” property which was a Holiday Inn, but they didn’t pay for it. Now normally a Holiday Inn would be a much lower quality than Four Points by Sheraton however it seems like management and the owner have no interest in maintaining this property as it is a complete disaster based on reviews. My husband has spent hours on the phone with Marriott trying to get what he is owed based on their policy for “walking customers”. Corporate keeps saying they will get in touch with the property but no one there ever responds. It’s been almost 3 months and they still haven’t paid for the room in the other hotel, given him the points he was supposed to get nor has he gotten the $100 their policy requires. Do yourself a huge favor and DON’T book a room here. It’s not worth the hassle and this property is not up to Marriott standards. Truly Marriott needs to revoke the franchise of this location because obviously management nor the owner care about this property or their guests and aren’t willing to do what is needed to meet Marriott standards.
Not good. I was at this hotel this September and the Hotel room was filthy, . took my portable black light to see if the linen was actually clean and there was C** stains all over the bedding. the Maitenence worker, tall dark haired guy was rude as hell. I for one will never stay there. I will get a room on the east side lafayette near i65 before i get a room there at the sheridon .I would rather sleep under a brdige . the other thing, I had a flash drive and some papers for my work on the bed. I accidently left them there and when i returned, they were GONE
The entire experience was not good. The staff were trying but were obviously short handed and doing what they could. Room was not ready at check in time and still was not ready at 5:00 pm. Was able to get a room with two double beds vs. a king but when we entered the room it did not appear clean. We questioned the staff still working in the hallway and they said "They were not cleaning rooms, just changing the sheets". There was also no soap, conditioner, lotion available and the dispensers in the shower were empty. Halls were full of dirty laundry and trash. Building was in poor condition and exterior appearance and landscaping were in bad shape. Parking lot was also full of potholes and in poor condition.
When my spouse and I drove up, it was poorly maintained, landscaping in disarray, empty planters, huge potholes in the parking lot with very few cars, cigarette butts on the ground at the front entrance; I thought it was abandoned! Inside was a step into the past. Very dated furnishings, a potentially attractive atrium in desperate need of pruning, and our generous guest suite that looked like it had the original furnishings from 1990. Furniture was worn, some veneers missing, lampshades with cracks and holes, and a kitchenette with NO accessories (like minimal cutlery, dishes, glassware, or even dish soap and paper towels). It was clean with the exception of the very full trash bin under the sink. This property is noticeably overpriced as well, as compared to the nearby West Lafayette Hampton Inn and the Holiday Inn that are HALF the price with FREE breakfasts and working amenities. Our 4 Points breakfast was OK, but cost $6 to $8 and the hot items seemed severely overcooked. We both suspected they may have been reheated leftovers. There also was an obvious water leak in the corridor near our room, with a huge trash can collecting the drips from the ceiling, and a full-time drying fan positioned on the carpet. The guest “Suites” are all near Door Exit 4 - and I was a bit concerned seeing broken exterior door hardware with NO security. ANYONE could gain entrance unnoticed at this far end of the hotel, a definite safety concern. I did see 2 police cars positioned in front of the abandoned conference wing, perhaps to deter further vandalism. This is not located in a “bad” neighborhood! It’s located at the north end of the town, adjacent to Purdue University, near fairly recent apartments/condos, the interstate, and commercial areas. There is no excuse for this poor maintenance giving such a terrible first impression. Now the positives: I’ll give credit to the staff, as they were cheerful, friendly, and helpful, from the front desk to the maintenance guy (who quickly brought us working light bulbs), to the breakfast attendant, and we never lacked for caring service. I felt badly for them having to field numerous complaints where they have so little control. You should check the numerous reviews dating back 3+ years with the same issues I’ve mentioned. Most guests are of the “never again” variety and we don’t blame them. The management “rebuttals” keep stating that the property is due for renovation, yet nothing has been done. What IS the plan for this hotel? Will it ever be brought up to Sheraton/Marriott standards?
