I recently visited Taste of India in West Lafayette and had an odd experience. When I asked the staff if I could sit at a certain spot (which was empty), I was told, “No, you can just sit here,” without any explanation—even though there were clearly multiple empty tables available. It felt a bit dismissive and unwelcoming. The food may be good, but the customer service could definitely use improvement.
08/01/25 - Since my first review we’ve been here many times. Today we went with our 5yr old and we did not have the same experience. I guess this is not a kid friendly restaurant. My wife asked what the price was for our 5yr old. The man said $8.99. My wife confirmed $8.99 and he rudely said, “She is a child.” I don’t know why they can’t do kid prices based on age. Our girl won’t finish a kid meal, so $8.99 is steep. Good thing for Green Leaf!
I’m not being mean, see my previous review. It is positive. The difference was the older couple who are usually there were off. They’re much friendlier. My advice no kids.
12/03- My first time and a great experience. I took my wife for lunch to another restaurant, which is closed on Tuesday. That’s when we found this gem.
You’re greeted as if you’re an old friend. They offer lunch special as well as a lunch buffet. The variety is great because you will find something for everyone.
If you’re Vegan, no problem. They have a good selection on both the menu or buffet.
The place is very clean and plenty of space so you don’t feel crowded. You get people from all over which for me it’s nice to see when people expand their taste buds.
I enjoy the Chicken Masala, Chicken Curry, the white rice and yellow rice with potatoes. I had their version of garbanzo beans. They had a paneer dish my wife enjoyed.
They had a section for a good ol’ salad 🥗
I used fresh jalapeños to top off my dishes. They had a spicy chicken dish but I forgot the name. If you see spicy, it has a kick. They have naan to tone down the spice and a few dessert dishes to sweeten your day.
The service is great and in my case I drink water so I never went without it during my meal.
The entire staff is friendly and willing it make you feel comfortable. If you’re adventurous and want to try a different place give them a try and let others know.

Recommended dishes: Chef Special Naan, Chicken Biryani
We were seated right away, and the service was friendly, frequent, and fast. I had the chicken fried rice with a medium/hot spice range. It was fantastic! My family was happy with their choices as well. My son had the butter chicken, and my wife had the saag paneer. We also had samosas and the garlic naan. We will be back to try the lunch buffet next.

Today(07/06/25) I tried a Garlic naan with chicken curry which is decent but the Chicken Biryani is the worst one I ever had. Really I never left a bad review this is my first one its really worst and it tastes like white rice mixed with just red chilli powder. There is no masala in the chicken biryani.
I have spend $15 plus tax for the biryani at least make it as eatable one.

We had the lunch buffet, and it is awesome as usual. We visit here a lot to get different types of meals and taste different cultures.
We have only ever gotten the lunch buffet, and it is great for those who want to try Indian cuisine but don't know much about it. Their seasonings, curry, etc. tastes amazing.
I recommend this place to anyone who enjoys Indian food, wants to try Indian food, and/or is in love with naan. Naan is a flatbread like Americans would eat garlic bread, except it is better and fun to soak up your sauces at the of your plate. Kids love it, too. Indians just know how to cook!

The buffet is very affordable for large groups such as business meetings or celebrations. Indian cuisine was approved by my India-born colleague.

Good for takeout. Not a good experience in restaurant.
