This is a nice, atmospheric American restaurant near my home. They have live music on Thursdays and free kids’ meals on Tuesdays, which we used to really enjoy.
Unfortunately, the last time I was there, the service was terrible. Our waitress was extremely rude, and it completely ruined the experience. Because of that, we’ve decided not to go back.

We came in for a few drinks and sat in the bar area. The service was horrible slow, we had to flag down the bartender numerous times. Other staff were sitting around, one waitress eating at the bar, another rolling silverware. Very poor customer service.

The food was okay. The broccoli in my wife's meal was unevenly cooked, some overdone, some underdone, but the food itself tasted good. My ribeye sandwich was cooked perfectly medium, but the seasoning was way too salty. My kids loved their meals, and kids eat free on Tuesdays. I am likely to give it another shot for that reason alone, and hopefully have better luck with what we choose.
Our server was Eleanor. She was very attentive and knowledgeable. She was also working a few other to tables so I feel she was a veteran. We ordered the Buffalo Chicken Wrap. It came with kettle chips. It was delicious and filling. We also ordered the fish and chips. It was 5 thin but long strips of catfish with a cornmeal crust, waffle fries and small cup of slaw. Very delicious as well and filling. They offer 5 tables outside for dining also. Will definitely go again.

Go to Town and Gown, Cheddar's, Red Seven, Black Sparrow, anywhere else, updating my review as it is still terrible food, think Applebee's at its worst, everything is wildly salty with a tangy old frozen boxed goods aftertaste. Not one of my friends has had positives after coming either, for the dishes I tried in my three visits, it is easily the worst place in all the area. Get yourself anything else. It does have great service, tons of room in a classic American atmosphere, this is the place for family and extended family, and people that were made into family. It's not really about the food despite prices to make it feel like it is and a menu full of variety just enough to be the backdrop for the annual whatever and business thing when the boss is buying.

I hosted my friend’s 30th birthday party at Walt’s Pub in West Lafayette and had a wonderful experience from start to finish! I made the reservation by phone a little over a month in advance. While the original room I wanted wasn’t available, I was offered a great alternative that I had seen pictured online — it made choosing a backup easy! The reservation cost was very reasonable.
The Monday before the event, I called to confirm everything since I hadn’t received a written confirmation. The woman I spoke with was incredibly helpful and pleasant. She even made note that I could come in at 10:30 to decorate — 30 minutes before they opened — which I really appreciated.
When I arrived on the day of the party, I was greeted by Alec, who was also our waiter. He was fantastic — friendly, kind, attentive, and super helpful throughout the whole party. The food was delicious and fresh, with impressively large portions for the price. The room was clean and just as expected.
I briefly spoke with the manager, Ashley, at the end about the deposit refund and gratuity, and she also asked how the service was. No complaints there either!
All in all, I was extremely satisfied with the experience, and most importantly, my friend was thrilled. I’d absolutely book with Walt’s again in the future!
