If you are ever near Portland Indiana (maybe on your way to Cincinnati) you need to make a detour to eat at T'opher's Place at the Portland Golf Course. The service was good. The place is attractive. Best of all the food was interesting an incredible! You can get cooked alligator if you are feeling adventurous (we did not try it). I got the chicken enchiladas with Chipotle sour cream sauce and a side of jambalaya. It was was fabulous flavor combination that was different...
If you told me I would have the best shrimp and grits I've ever had in the middle of Indiana furniture country, I would of called you crazy. I'm from South Carolina and have had shrimp and grits many times throughout my life and Topher's was by far the best I've ever had. The cream sauce, coupled with the blackened shrimp. I literally stopped mid meal to write this review. It's amazing.
