Overall an excellent experience. The food and service were outstanding, and the atmosphere unique. Menu should note that suggested wine is not included with entree. Would definitely recommend
The food is always out of this world. The Renaissance offers such delicious tidbits it is an amazing spot!
I had really worked this place up in my head over the years and finally found an opportunity to go. The good: The ambiance is amazing. I loved the history of and in the building. The waitstaff was attentive and offered helpful suggestions. The amuse bouche was a mushroom tartlette that was perfect. The sorbet palate cleanser was amazing and would have been even better had they strained the seeds out. The Potatoes as my side were creamy and delicious. The okay: unfortunately most of the food fell in this category. The antipasti platter was just meh. I ordered the lamb and my husband had a ribeye. The lamb was unforgiveably overdone, not even the slightest hint of pink remained. My should be velvety lamb was tough and difficult to cut and chew. The fruit dessert was a flavor delight but the texture was marred by unpeeled apples. The drinks were okay. The josephine was tart where i thought it would be a bit sweet. The mai tai was tasty. The black walnut old fashioned was like licking a bookshelf shined with orange oil. Overall we enjoyed ourselves and would be willing to give the Renaissance another try. For the price I expected slightly more attention to detail.
Such a unique location and restaurant! Incredible experience! Great food, great drinks and great service!!
I ordered the rack of lamb and got three, small bites of lamb meat and the rest was fat. So disappointed.
An amazing experience. I've been waiting for a St. Patrick's Day meal for 6 years. Where I lived before St. Patrick's Day was huge. Thanks to Adrienne and team for putting together a delicious 4 course menu. Every item was creative and unique. We loved every course but especially the shepards pie and Guinness chocolate cake.
The food at the Renaissance Cafe is world class and delicious! It's a true dining experienced.
A very excellent evening. Service was impeccable and the food was excellent. One thing i love is having the food seasoned perfectly and not having a desire to adjust. Every dish was just so.
Chef Jake just absolutely NAILS it! Every single time we’ve visited it is just out of this world insane! My picky fiancé will actually try anything put in front of him here. Tonight we had the best dining experience the both of us have ever had and any restaurant anywhere. Chef Jake even sent over samples of pasta to the table and it was not only so very kind of him, but the pastas were just knock your socks off amazing! From the staff to the food to the drinks to the historic atmosphere- it’s all just incredible! The grilled Caesar is a MUST! 100/10 a HAVE TO HAVE spot!
We had a great meal! The service was fantastic.

Service was ok. We all ordered steaks and they were not prepared as ordered. 2 of the 6 guests could not even eat theirs. The ribeyes did not even look like ribeyes. No marbling at all. We were told they have a new cook. We were comped 25% off 2 of the ribeyes. Drinks were good. We were given dessert menus but the waitress didn't ever come back to take our dessert order. Staff were eating in their work area. We were celebrating a birthday and it was noted on the reservation, however the waitress never mentioned it. Not a good experience and we will not go back.
Renaissance Cafe in Assaria is still just a lovely, upscale dining experience for all, in the greater regional area of Salina! The food is exceptional, and the ambiance charming, especially their herb & flower garden upon entering the restaurant. Highly recommend this eatery, especially for special occasions!
My wife and I stopped in 7 Sep. she had the sea bass which she loved, I had the ribeye which was delicious as well. She finished with Crème brûlée, delicious. A nice drive out to the lovely burg of Assaria. It was a nice outing!
Unique and interesting setting that is beautifully maintained. Our server was excellent, and the food and drinks were better. It was quiet early in our experience, but became lively as other guests filtered in. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience!
Beautiful interior, food, hospitality, and service. Such a great hidden gem - great for a nice family dinner, birthday, couples dinner. Highly recommend!
