Enjoyed a night out at the renaissance cafe with my husband for his birthday. Nice atmosphere, very attentive waiter, and delicious appetizer and meal. We will continue to go back for special occasions!
Food was freshly made and delicious. Staff were wonderful and helpful. The drinks and cocktails were amazing as well.

5 out of 5, would recommend! The food, service, etc was outstanding. Prices are a bit high for central kansas however on par with similar restaurants in larger cities.
The wife and I went for our anniversary dinner last night, and the food was so amazing. I usually try to take pictures, but the walleye flown in from Canada and the and potatoes and asparagus on my fish were amazing. My wife had the crab with tiger shrimp and hers was really good too. The fried artichokes as an appetizer were phenomenal. I had an oatmeal stout that was amazing and wife had one of their coffee mixed cocktails that was delicious as well. We loved the friendliness of the staff and the everyone who worked would walk by and make small talk. I also saw some Anti pasta charcuterie boards that looked amazing even though we didn't try one. But the prices are pretty high. But for the quality of the food and service go. You will be impressed. We are definitely making plans to go back again. 10 out of 10.
I consider this as "our place" as my husband and I spent several special occasions here. Now it is just "my" place when I need an overall "welcome home" from the staff. And of course, the food and drink is always superb, which is why we went in the first place!
Another fantastic experience. Service was excellent. Food.....amazing. World class. My only complaint is that an old school cafeteria off of a gym, with hardwood floors, can get a little loud. But still, carried on wonderful conversation with friends and enjoyed an amazing meal. Hidden gem.
Had a great waiter and the food was outstanding. My husband had the walleye and said it was the best he ever had. My steak was cooked perfectly
Best dinner out I can remember. I just can’t compare it, it was the best flavors, portions and service

Currently, this is the most important review I have ever written, and it may hold that title for my life. See… We came knowing we would enjoy great food. We could tell that much from the photos that have been shared by others. However, this was much more than just a great meal. The meal, coupled with the experience, was emotionally stirring. This experience was one I have always dreamed of having, after watching films, such as the Last Holiday. I did not expect this to be such an experience, and it was everything that I have dreamed and much more. Being that this was an experience that I’ve always longed for, and it exceeded my expectations in every way, my eyes welled up with tears of excitement and joy. The flavors blew me away. You could see the passion pouring from the staff, feel it in the atmosphere, and taste it in every single bite. Tucked away, in an old school gymnasium building, in a small town off Interstate 135, and about 20 minutes south of Salina, Kansas… Renaissance Cafe is a destination restaurant. I would take the 12 hour trip from home, only to enjoy the meals here.

We loved our trip from Wichita to the Renaissance Cafe in Assaria. The nostalgia of being in a former school house where you could see library books and look over to the gym floor was amazing. Several of us are teachers so it made it very special. The food was delicious. It was very cold at our table, but our waitress quickly turned off the fans and it was much better. We had a terrific time and hope to return soon.
Such a unique and exquisite gem in a tiny town of Kansas. Gourmet food.
Service can be a little slow, but that's okay since it's so gourmet and fancy! Great place to be for hours, so bring your favorite people!

A little out of the way but so very worth it!! Everything was delicious and the restaurant is amazing! Don't sleep on this gem!
Been meaning to get here for years. Finally made it. SO GREAT! Loved the surroundings! Our server was friendly and helpful. She explained the choices and affirmed our decisions to try cocktails that were new to us, and to order the weekend's specials. She paced our service perfectly. It was such a relaxed and delicious and fun evening!! Love this place! Love this use of a beautiful old building!
Excellent menu & staff. They were very busy so the ticket times were longer than expected.
