Started with jalapeño Mac & Cheese balls. Initially underwhelmed, because the sauce was cold and the cheese balls similar. Thought I might burn the roof of my mouth with deep fried cheese. But No. the cold sauce had all the heat I could enjoy. My Enchiladas Jayhawk was another positive surprise. Shrimp, scallops and crab meat in three rich covered enchiladas had me appreciaung all immigrants. The only criticism I could muster was that the chips had an odd taste, almost old.

We've always liked coming to Maria's, but our last visit was disappointing.They were a little busy, so we understood it took a while to take our orders.But then we were told they don't do 2-for-tuesday tacos anymore. You have to buy them 3 at a time. My elderly Mom can barely finish 2 tacos. The 2fer was perfect, and the 3 of us would always order drinks and queso so as to not be total tightwads, lol. But we probably won't be coming as often.Because they also told us they don't do fried flour tacos anymore because it takes too long. I didn't say anything, but that really makes no sense. Just tell the customer that when they order fried tacos... that it will take longer. Then they can decide if it's worth the wait. In our opinion, it is.Hopefully, Maria's will reconsider these issues. We really like coming here otherwise.

Food was subpar for 1st & will be my last visit. California Burrito is drowned in a yellow cheese, I took 2 bites was done. The rice was very salty. The lemonade was watery, waitress said mix was an issue. Only good thing was the appetizer, jalepeno poppers.

? Yummy, and good selection of Mexican food! Last time I went the meat was a little saltier then usual, but I'm a salt fanatic, so it didn't bother me ? Very friendly waitresses, even when they are super busy!
I go here quite often next time I'll put a pic of what my usual is in the burrito California. It's tasty most of the time, the staff is kinda meh tho.

Service was very friendly, food was a great mix of tex-mex and large portions for the prices. The guacamole tasted fresh and the margaritas were strong. This is a really great place in a small town and definitely worth trying if your live nearby or are just passing through.Vegetarian options: There's is a small but delicious selection of items for vegetarians and several things that can easily be modified for Pescatarians.
