We've always liked coming to Maria's, but our last visit was disappointing.They were a little busy, so we understood it took a while to take our orders.But then we were told they don't do 2-for-tuesday tacos anymore. You have to buy them 3 at a time. My elderly Mom can barely finish 2 tacos. The 2fer was perfect, and the 3 of us would always order drinks and queso so as to not be total tightwads, lol. Started with jalapeño Mac & Cheese balls. Initially underwhelmed, because the sauce was cold and the cheese balls similar. Thought I might burn the roof of my mouth with deep fried cheese. But No. the cold sauce had all the heat I could enjoy. My Enchiladas Jayhawk was another positive surprise. Shrimp, scallops and crab meat in three rich covered enchiladas had me appreciaung all immigrants. The only criticism I could muster was that the chips had an odd taste, almost old.
