I asked the waitress what on the menu she suggested, and she suggested the chicken fingers. MAN!!! They were amazing! It was the best batter on chicken, or fish for that matter that I've ever had, by far. Additionally, the chicken was so moist, it was like it had been injected with water or something. And though I wanted to eat it all, I couldn't because the serving was too large. Other than being my Mother's birth place, those chicken fingers are another...
Excellent food in the heart of the really cool downtown of Council Grove, Kansas. Beautiful fall day, went for a late lunch. Not crowded but the food took longer than expected. The Chicken Fried Steak was delicious and well worth the wait! The desserts were just outstanding! My wife loved the Bread Pudding, “just the right amount of cinnamon”. My Apple Crumble pie was equally delicious.
Food was really good. The history of the place is cool too. The wait staff was nice but not the most responsive. Still very good though so don't let that sway you. Lots of options and a good bar too.
