We LOVE the Rancho Viejo in Council Grove and visit regularly! The staff is wonderful and the food is delicious! They also catered our wedding and went above and beyond. The guests all loved the food!
Great food, great prices, great service, great people. We eat there minimum once a week or more.

El Rancho Viejo is one of the phenomenal Mexican restaurants. The flavor is really good, with options like many made-in-house sauces. The portions are smaller than the average Mexican restaurant, but the flavor makes up for it. The service is good. From a person that has eaten in Salina and McPherson, they have the best rice and refried beans. Two Mexican restaurants in three days, this one was best. The large chimichanga can be cut with a fork, not the usual tough flour shell. The food is really good tasting with fast service. The street tacos come with 4 and are plenty, keeping you stuffed for hours. A great place to get exceptional Hispanic food. The chile Verde is very spicy. The salsa has a hot version that is tasty. The chicken enchiladas with green sauce are homemade and delicious, with chicken cooked with tomatoes, pepper and onion. The margaritas are delicious. The restaurant is quiet enough to visit and has wheelchair accessibility with one floor and no steps.
