Rockin Ricos Gourmet Sno Balls

Words fail me when it comes to describing this incredible business. We drove all the way out to Derby just for shaved ice, not juice chunky shaved ice. My 14-year-old daughter was driving and nervously ordering for the first time. Meanwhile, I had just gotten into a car wreck and couldn’t drive due to a severe concussion. I needed something to help me keep down since my accident, and I had heard great things about this shaved ice shop. The owner went above and beyond to make sure I had enough shaved ice. He was very sweet, caring, and it’s been the only thing I’ve been able to eat since my horrible car wreck. If you read this far, it goes to show that I would travel anywhere just to have this experience again. The taste was amazing, and the service was incredible. Thank you to the owner for making my week a lot better just because of a couple of shaved ice and your amazing service. I hope to get out there today or tomorrow because I can’t keep anything else down but your shaved ice. 🍧🍧🍧

Wow I didn’t know snow cones could be so good! I had heard some hype about this place but didn’t actually get around for trying it until now. It’s a very unassuming place - just a tiny drive-up trailer in front of the Derby theater, but they have some really great snow cone selection! I got the apple pie sno ball and my son got rainbow. It was so delicious! And perfect on a hot, 100-degree summer day! It’s also so light and refreshing because it’s just ice and some flavor and condensed milk. This place is a really treasure in Derby!

Tried them tonight while they were parked at Exploration Place and our family LOVED it! We got cherry and strawberry and both were delicious and a good size. Will definitely be supporting them more often, especially if they get a pickle flavor!!!

Watched 5 cars be served as we stood at the window waiting. Absolutely ridiculous. Looked at us several times and did not bother to take our order. Mind you it’s 100 degrees outside. Literally no reason to stand and wait 20 minutes in this heat to watch others be served and be completely ignored by incompetent teenagers.

The snow cones were good and very flavorful. We were really excited to get snow cones for the start of summer. Plenty of syrup they did not skimp. Overall a great experience. Only thing is I wish when I had asked the worker for advice that she had the knowledge on what the flavor tasted like. But other than that it was awesome. Clean tables and good music.

I wanted something sweet on my lunch break so I decided to give this place a try. I was expecting your typical shaved ice but I was excited when I seen their gourmet options and now I fear I may have a new addiction. Lol so delicious! I have the coconut cream pie and It was so good I can’t wait to try more!

We were given complementary snow comes for our big family after we happen to catch the owners run-away dog that day. This was so generous and every flavor we tried was delicious. Now we know where to find the best snow cones! Thanks Conner for your generosity!

OMG I LOVE THIS PLACE! My daughter introduced me to Rockin Rick's a few years back. Now I can't wait for their season to open. I never liked snow cones until I tried RR, but now I'm in love with them. The flavors of syrup are endless. Then, to take it to the next level, they make gourmet snow cones. Ice cream and "Eagle Brand" are some of the ingredients used to make this delicious snowcone. They do have sugar free syrups as well. The hours of operation are afternoon to evening. It is drive up service. You better get there sooner than later because lines start forming. However, they do have a walk-up window to place your order. Summer season is upon us and what better treat to enjoy than a tasty gourmet snow cone from Rockin Rico's in Derby, Ks. Their trailer is located off of K-15, next to the theater.
