“Stopped by Gallo Grande today with a friend for a late lunch. First time visiting and we weren't sure what to order. Our server (Oswaldo) did an OUTSTANDING job. He suggested a couple dishes and within minutes they were at the table. I highly recommend Gallo Grande and if you are able to request Oswaldo (think that was his name) do so!!“

“Great authentic Mexican seafood! Wonderful, attentive wait staff. Delicious! Reasonably priced. In the old Eccles Department Store, which has been beautifully remodeled with wonderful antique store and other services. Definitely worth a visit!

Vegetarian options: They have tostada's and cheese enchiladas. No salads though.

Kid-friendliness: Welcoming atmosphere, with jid-sized portions available.“

“Wife and I came in after a high school tennis tournament. Seated quickly and our drink orders was taken and delivered quickly. Chips and salsa was brought to the table and refilled when I got low. We got the chicken quesadilla for an appetizer and it was the best quesadilla I have ever had. I got a two burrito meal with one beef and one chicken. The chicken was the same meat as the quesadilla and I can honestly say I was happy with that. The beef was good and the same as the beef my wife got with the fajitas. All and all it was the best Mexican food we have had in a long time.“

The décor is bright and inviting, with elements that make you feel like you're dining on the coast—perfect for a laid-back, enjoyable meal.

The food at Playa & Dorada is absolutely incredible. I started with the ceviche, and it was fresh, flavorful, and bursting with the right balance of citrus and spice. For the main course, I had the grilled shrimp tacos, and they were out of this world. The shrimp was perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful, paired with a delicious tangy sauce and fresh toppings that elevated every bite. The Mexican street corn (elote) was also a standout—creamy, smoky, and topped with just the right amount of cheese and chili powder.

The service was exceptional. Our server was friendly, attentive, and offered great recommendations. The timing of the food was spot on, and we felt well taken care of throughout the entire meal.

“The food was fresh and the cilantro hot sauce was very flavorful. Overall was an awesome meal . I ordered the combo enchilada plate with 1 cheese 1 chicken and 1 beef enchilada. The cheese enchilada was excellent, the chicken enchilada was the best I've had at any restaurant . The sour cream sauce had a little spice mixed in with it and overall gave it a pink color. Excellent excellent excellent flavor. The beef enchilada was made with real hamburger meat and was not frozen meat. It tasted like it was homemade for sure. Overall the best experience with enchilada meal at any restaurant. I will be eating here again the next time I visit Dodge City , Kansas.

“Good tacos they counter lady with the lipstick isn’t friendly. Had questions on the menu she had no patience to explain. Ordered cheese dip needed more chips to go with cheese. She was rude and said they’re not free, and charged for extra chips. Why not explain than when you took my order. Go take a nap lady“

“This place is absolutely AMAZING! Whether you live here in Dodge or are just passing through, you have to pay them a visit. They have really good Mexican food on the weekends. Their tamales are the best I’ve ever had! And their pandulces and conchas are to die for! There are so many options and everything is homemade and tastes incredible. The staff is also super nice and very helpful. One of my favorite spots! I come often for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, really yummy tortillas. You should definitely check it out! Always puts a smile on my face.“
