Pretty Boy Floyd's Steaks & Shine is a fun, attractive themed steak house. The booths are nicely socially distanced. So much that in some of them, you see no people other than your server. The steaks are perfectly cooked and we like the option of purchasing different size portions. The warm bread is great! This is a place that may be a highlight of your trip!
This was a great place to eat! My family loved the atmosphere, and the food was excellent! I truly unique experience in a small town.
All of us loved our meal and really enjoyed the atmosphere!
Good food, neat decor and location.
Although the atmosphere was quaint, food was horrible. Received a spoiled steak. The manager admited that it bad, then proceeded to make fun of us for ordering a small. Only offered 5.00 discount on a 130.00 tab. Won't be back. The waitress was apologetic .
Our office had their Christmas party there. The food was okay but it was so cold that several in our group were extremely cold and uncomfortable. Don't sit anywhere near the front entrance. We spent over $600 but will not be returning.
Great food and drinks also great employees
Great food, friendly service, neat atmosphere.
Oh, Pretty Boy Floyd's, where do I begin? Upon entering the speakeasy-themed basement restaurant, we were greeted with the lovely aroma of, well, basement. You know that musty smell of a dusty underground cellar? Not very appetizing, but I wasn't going to hold it against them. Our server was pleasant and served us promptly, timing out the appetizers, salads, and entrees nicely. But the food, the food is where it all unraveled. We ordered mozzarella sticks and calamari sticks to start. The "marinara" sauce served for dipping was nothing more than heated ketchup with a few shreds of cheese sprinkler atop, perhaps to conceal the fact that it was mere ketchup? A few shreds of cheese does not a marinara make. After the appetizers came and went, our salads arrived. The menu stated that these would be a blend of iceberg and romaine lettuce. Hm, no romaine in sight. That's ok, we came for the steaks anyway. Our salad plates were cleared and we eagerly awaited the main event. When our ribeye steaks arrived, they didn't look great, but you can't always judge a book by its cover, right? The steaks tasted worse than they looked. They had no sear or grilled flavor whatsoever. Had these steaks ever touched anything even remotely resembling a grill? I would bet money that they had not. Had even a grain of salt or a sprinkle of pepper landed on the surface of these poor, flavorless ribeyes? Absolutely not. These poor steaks saw a fate that no self-respecting piece of meat deserves. Half of our table's steaks were mostly gristle and fat and even that fat didn't add any redeeming flavor to these sad excuses for steak. The vegetables? Pure mush. Even the baked potato was off with a texture that makes me think they pre-cook, then refrigerate them for a decidedly hard and flaky (almost chalky) baked potato experience. Skip Pretty Boy Floyd's.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone that I care about. It was literally the worst food, and everyone in our party of four agreed. Starting with the calamari and mozzarella cheese sticks that were served with warmed catsup as the dipping sauce. Salad was mediocre with mostly iceberg lettuce. We all ordered the Ribeye steaks. They were absolutely the worst. They were served cold, no flavor whatsoever. The canned vegetables were a big mush. Thank God we had a potato that we could get some sustenance from. The prices are not cheap, so you would expect to get a good steak comparable to the price. We decided the meat was not fit for our dogs so nothing came home with us. Off to the restroom before the long trip home. The soap dispenser was empty and no paper towels to dry your hands. I felt extremely lucky that there was toilet paper. The restaurant was not busy at all and they are only open a couple of days, so not understanding the lack of supplies in the restroom. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone I cared about.

This place is classy and cool with great food and service
Great atmosphere!
This is a restaurant that you must visit. The entrance to the restaurant is in the alley. You immediately go down a flight of stairs to the restaurant. It is in the basement of several businesses in Ellsworth, KS. It is decorated like a 1930's Speak Easy. We loved the decor and and the mood it set for dining. The service was great and the food was very tasty. Our steak was cooked just the way we wanted and our sever was very nice, polite and very informative about the menu, also she was the bartender. The prices on the menu were very reasonable. This is a restaurant that we will be going back to.
Our steaks were great, the potatoes were perfect, we had a nice salad in a quiet dining atmosphere. The treat here though, is all the decorations. It is worth the trip just to see all the old photos.
Really quality food and a very unique decor. Traces its history back to Ellsworth Cowtown days in the late 1800s
