I picked up a meal to go. Delicious! We had a sampler - enough for two meals for my husband & me. The meats were very tender with a wonderful smoky flavor. It was fun to try the different bbq sauces. We enjoyed it very much & will try again soon.

We finally had a chance to try The Smoking Barrel! We have been talking about needing to since before they opened. This year we decided to try them for our company Christmas party. We order several slabs of ribs and brisket, we aren’t into spicy, so we decided to make our own cheesy potatoes and beans. The meat was absolutely delicious! We brought the left overs home and our family has been feasting on it the past few days, and some of them say it’s even better left over. If you haven’t tried them, you are missing out!!

Whenever I’m in Ellsworth, I stop at The Smoking Barrel just to get there jalapeño popper mac & cheese with brisket. It is so delicious.

Not only was this the best BBQ I have ever had from any restaurant, the sides were amazing also. We tried 3 meats, 3 sides, and the apple crisp. The biscuits are perfection, and they had fresh local honey for them. Make sure to get the jalapeño popper Mac n cheese!

Excellent bbq. Could smell it as soon as we stepped out of the vehicle. Unfortunately we had to set some aside to try the deserts, and was not disappointed. Can't wait for the left overs tonight. Excellent choice of bbq sauces as well. Kids menue was spot on.
Food was very good, Mack & cheese is the bomb. Brisket was tender, cooked to perfection. When back in the area will definitely look forward to dining with them again. The atmosphere was very clean, tastefully decorated, Owners & staff very friendly and welcoming. Must stop in!

This BBQ in Elsworth is definitely worth a 10 minute drive south of I-25. It has a great variety of meats and home made sauces as well as all the traditional side dishes. We will be back next time we are passing by on I-25.

If you happen to be in the Ellsworth, KS area, I recommend stopping by this awesome BBQ restaurant. The food is delicious! We particularly liked the ribs and sides. Don’t forget to try their different sauces. From sun and lemonade to large wet wipes at the table to great music and friendly service. They thought of everything. What a great lunch with a good value.
