All in all I quite enjoyed this. It definitely doesn't filled the American Chinese places that im use to but this is like a "healthy Chinese" food wasn't greasy . Food was very well vegetable based . All other places were closed in town so decided to try and im glad I did. Its definitely alittle expensive for what it is. I had 2 lunch specials 1 order of crab ragoons with a sprite and water with tip it was $32.The waitress is killer nice. Busboy I feel like didn't even care to help her when she got alittle busy which was quite annoying to watch especially as a business owner. But don't knock this little place you can tell that owner in the back is really working his butt off and I will definitely be back.

Don't waste your money or time. 52 dollars for an entree and 2 orders of fried rice with a few egg rolls. Ordered pick up and didn't have anything to eat it with. Had to ask hotel clerk for forks... the fried rice was not good at all.

Waiter needs to work on his attitude if he wants to see more business through here.

I love this place always have! The chicken chow mein and lo mein are my favorites. Also their version of sweet and sour chicken is so good. The crab Rangoon and egg rolls are also fire!

It is good in an older crowd targeted way. Not for me though.

First the good. I loved the decor. The wood carvings on the wall are gorgeous. The staff was friendly and I gave a good tip because the service was exceptional.Sadly, the bad was exceptionally bad. The chicken rice soup I had was a scoop of white rice and a little bit of what seemed like canned chicken, in a broth so salty that ocean water would mellow it out a little. There was no seasoning to speak of.The main course was worse. I had the garlic chicken, which was a spicy dish. It was the most white people spicy I’ve ever tasted. A touch above white bread in spiciness, but below mayo. My wife’s egg foo young had what we guess was gravy out of a can that was reheated in the microwave and the gravy had cold spots throughout.I want to support local business, but that was my first and last visit to House of Ma

House of Ma is a hidden treasure in Emporia Kansas and really a must go. The food is well prepared, plentiful and tastes fantastic. While the building is a little worse for wear the service and traditional feel makes up for it and is quite the local gem. Prices are very reasonable especially post pandemic. The staff are always smiling and engaging with customers and prompt with take service without being overbearing like some restaurants can be.Dining here supports the state, supports locally and supports the hard working people that prepare the food, serve the tables and make your dining experience enjoyable.

Best Chinese in e-town

This restaurant is ghetto. It's ridiculously cold. I was experiencing hypothermia in here. So, I will never eat here again. It can go bankrupt for all I care. Food here doesn't taste nearly as good anymore. My fried rice tasted disgustingly burnt. People who own this place have not fixed the leaking ceiling that leaks liquid on seats where customers sit. Restroom sinks here only give out cold water, which is an unsanitary hazard for people who have an autoimmune disease disorder. This place is a hazard to people who have an autoimmune disease disorder anyway. Emporia really has become an increasingly ghetto city going downhill economically and infrastructurally. I would not recommend people with severe health disorders to eat here because its businesses are not accommodating with proper hospitality.
