“.....We were in Pittsburg Kansas for the FUNNY CAR choas drag race at nearby Mo-Kan Dragway and staying just down the road at very nice door parking Regency Inn motel and the Farm House appeared THE place to eat. Warning, the MENU is never ending with many varibles. B-L-D.. First experience was for dinner. I had a 4pc fried chicken meal with hand cut potato wedges and American cole slaw while my wife ordered the big steak burger with grilled onions, baked potato and German cole slaw. Our meals were expertly prepared and served by Trinity. Servings are huge and everything was very yummy. On Sunday after checking out of the Regency Inn we returned for breakfast to find the huge parking lot near full. Ordered 2-eggs, 2-bacon, 2-sausage links and 2 pancakes that were prepared perfectly. The Farm House Cafe is exactly the kind of place we hope to find while traveling the scenic back roads in pursuit of curiosities. Check em out, you will be glad you did and they will appreciate your business... Cya down the road .... ... .. . O o- Carl H. (BC Mayor..=)~”

“It's an awesome dive! Good food, fun staff...granny is a hoot! Breakfasts are huge! Refills always happen! I tried several meals - one that stood out was the best in the area ... fried chicken! Forget the 2 other "feud" establishments. These guys here, have the best by far. Definitely a place to become a regular!!!”

“So bomb, I'm from Chicago and Pittsburg is limited but this spot always pulls thru. 3 birria tacos and two steak tacos for less than 15$ can't beat it.”

“I took my class of 12 students (5th graders) and 4 adults to TOAST on a Thursday for lunch during a field trip. I had contacted the restaurant and ordered ahead of time, and they were so wonderful in making our experience a great one. Our tables were ready and set when we arrived and the food came out quickly, and for a party of 16– that’s a lot of food all at once! The food was delicious, the wait staff were attentive, and we had a great experience.”

“Number 1 breakfast spot in Pittsburg!! Sometimes you may wish it was a larger spot but then that would take away from the atmosphere of Bobs. The cowboy is hands down favorite in our household. All the history on the walls there. I don't think there's anyone around our small towns that hasn't been to bobs and if they haven't they definitely should try it out.”

“Since I wrote my first review in 2013, the restaurant is now in a new and larger location. I don't especially like the interior/exterior, but the food is excellent. I highly recommend the Pollo Tapatio, which I get every time we are there. Service is usually spot on, especially when the owner is there. This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in the Pittsburg/Fort Scott area. You have to go to Joplin or Springfield to find better. There is another restaurant in Lamar by the same name, but the food is not the same, way too salty!”

“Service is speedy and attentive. Fried chicken sandwich, breakfast burger, the wings, in every combination, and fried pickles are our favorites! Add the Mac n' cheese to every meal. Mmmmm! Kid friendly, easy parking...never disappointed.”

“5 stars doesn't even seem like enough! The food was incredible and the service was even better. To start, the high chair was the cleanest I've ever seen for our 2 year old to sit in. So grateful for cleanliness! Our 4 year old accidentally spilled an entire glass of water on our pizza right after our waitress had just brought it to us! Our waitress Jamie didn't even hesitate to offer for the kitchen to make another one without charge. We will definitely be back next time we visit Pittsburg!”

“We made a quick stop at this charming Mexican restaurant while on a road trip. We shared chicken soft shell tacos and bean, rice, cheese tacos...both yummy. Coffee was smooth. Warm chips, good salsa, yummy Pico de Gallo. Attentive service. Cool old brick building. Recommend.”

“Came here on a date night with my wife. It was a little later in the evening, but they were still open for another hour. We were greeted and told we could sit anywhere, so we took a booth, they were very comfortable. We got a flight of beers and were pleasantly surprised by the flavors, all very nice for a local micro brewery. We ordered two pizzas, and it took a while to get them. One was cooked alright, but mine could have been a little crisper. Next time, I will ask for a little longer cook time. We were a little disappointed that it was cold, not sure why as there were very few people and we were the only ones that ordered food. Will try again a little earlier in the evening.”

“For our first visit it was amazing! Wow after years of switching from Annie's to Mary's our final pick is Gebhart's. And yes their chocolate pie was delicious. Can't wait to go on a Monday for Chicken & Noodles.”
“When I was looking for a ride to Joplin on a Pittsburg game day, the (owners?) of this shop gave me a ride for free. They wouldn't take payment and no contact information was shared. I am forever grateful. When I returned to get my car, I had some more coffee and bought some beans. They were incredible in my french press. I believe I got the gorilla brew or something close to that name”

“Very good food...it's an alcohol beverage with about five shots in it.. it's about 12 bucks and it's made for 2 but it's only one me... Needless to say the drink was wonderful and I did not share. the cool thing about this drink is it has fire on top and it burns the entire time you're drinking. They also have a sushi roll called fire roll and they light it on fire for you.. The experience overall was pretty impressive ♥️”

“We have been eating at The Mall Deli for over 30 years! My husband gets the Reuben and I either get chili or a grilled ham and cheese sandwich. None of that may sound very exciting, but their sandwiches have generous proportion and are always made with quality ingredients. The service and atmosphere are superb. This is our go-to place for a quick bite to eat when in Pittsburgh, Kansas.”

“Island Green Detox. Filling and fantastic! Yesterday’s visit to the local Tropical Smoothie yielded an item error. Going back today for another Detox, I requested a re-do of yesterday’s mistake. These moments are the ultimate defining ones that create a five star rating. Above and beyond with friendliness! Thank you, Caleb K. and the Pittsburg team! See you tomorrow!”

“Such a fun little ice cream shop! Lots of flavors to choose from and different styles - sundaes, milkshakes, root beer floats & more! The ice cream is made with butterfat and is rich and flavorful. Prices are comparable with other places including chains, but here you’re getting much better quality and friendlier service. Our sweet pup was allowed to accompany us inside and she got a whipped cream pup cup! They also sell lots of old fashioned candy and seasonal goodies. We will definitely be back!”

“Roots is a cute environment to linger with friends and a coffee. We had crepes and a bagel. I asked for peanut butter and it was the tiniest cup. That small amount of peanut butter was enough for half a bagel not the whole thing. I would encourage you to upside the cup to one that gives a tablespoon which is still only a partial serving.”

“Went there quite a few times while we lived there. It would have been my usual place for lunch. Always bought an extra meal for lunch the next day - going into the weekend. So fresh and yummy. A bit pricey for families. But great for lunch break. Owners are pleasant and easy to talk to. Grab and go establishment. Simple decor and bright. The food is the star. Enjoy your meal at a park! “Can I just say if you want to help me place just like cheers where everybody knows each other's name maybe not yours. And your partners are you going to be Greek Adonis' and Ganymede or the lovely Queen of Beer. We can scratch all night long listen to the Wayward Betty's then my dear you this is the place where you. With a total amount of $12 I was able to drink from one end of the evening to the other. And Friends some of the lovely boys brought me some lovely drinks and whatever give me through to the end. For goodness sake I'm an old man. The jukebox was just like my YouTube, (you know you can shareYouTube music free when you get a family) and it was just like my family. Because they play David Bowie and Prince and Bruce Willis and this loverly woman named Amy winehouse. I don't know why she really didn't want to go to rehab she said no, no, no! Can't wait for her next album it's going to be great. And yes I have to come out logs to the Queen of Beer and the Lady of the Library who I sit next to. Young to get pictures of the end of the Trump of Tarot card reading that I gave to them. They're helping me develop a hyper-sexual they're going into my new deck. And yes it is a IR layoffs dipping accepting collage into the MOMA for a very long time. And for goodness sake there's anything new music in at least as long as David Bowie has been dead life Prince.”

“You simply must go to experience the ambience of a bygone era. There are just so many decorative chickens to look at. I also loved the retro video games, and the glass telegraph insulators. I ordered the mozzarella sticks. They were bad. I tasted my friend's fries; fantastic. One of my dining companions reports that the fried chicken was fabulous. The other said the best thing on her plate was the German cole slaw. Service was great. The women's restroom was unpleasant. I was really bummed that they had run out dessert. It was the only thing I wanted.”

“I live in Wichita, Kansas and I absolutely love Frontenac Bakery and Frontenac Bread in Frontenac, Kansas. Say that three times. I was born in 1971 and was raised eating Frontenac Bread at Barto's Idle Hour in Frontenac, Kansas. When my family was still alive and living in Pittsburg, Kansas and Liberal, Missouri we would visit down there and go to Barto's Idle Hour and the Frontenac Bakery on our trip. We always would bring home a few extra loaf of bread to last a few days. There is no other bread like it. I would strongly recommend going to the Frontenac Bakery for a fresh loaf of bread. Keep up the good work. May God bless you always!”
