I love this coffee shop and visit multiple times everytime I’m in the area!! The owners are the best and sweetest people you’ll ever meet!! The chef makes delicious homemade food and the drinks are outstanding!! I recommend the cinnamon rolls, the biscuits and gravy, the breakfast sandwiches, the chili, the goulash and potato soup!! For drinks, as someone who doesn’t drink coffe there are tons of non-coffee options, the strawberry peach smoothie is to die for!! If you do drink coffee, you literally can’t go wrong with any of the drinks! The owners love to come out and chat and are always so friendly and welcoming! You can find tons of tourists from all over the world and people enjoying a communal puzzle in the front of the coffee shop! Perfect for everyone and great to stay awhile or grab a quick bite!! Definitely worth a stop! A short drive from Joplin- I highly recommend checking out this place. The food is so much better than I expected and you can not beat the prices. Love supporting small businesses over the chains. It makes a great get a way to go read a book, bring your laptop and get some work done.

Big takeaway- just don't get the oat milk. Taking things into context, starting with Galena being incredibly small and our expectations weren't high, this place is very quaint and welcoming. Clean, nice set up, smells great. Better than my son and I expected. We ordered two lattes, oat milk. The nice fellow clarifies by asking if we want any flavors. We both decline. Right? Right. He's super friendly and gets to work and the prices here are great. So, expectations exceeded. And then we got the drinks. Super sweet and chalky. Had to be the oat milk. Bummer. My inclination would be to complain, but honestly we were just excited that they even had dairy alternatives. Not everyone consumes them or knows what they should taste like, and maybe the owners are in that lot. Who knows, maybe they'll read this and change it. Unflavored lattes should not be sweet, let alone sugared vanilla paste. We didn't even drink them. This also might serve as a warning for any diabetics that are also dairy intolerant to check the glycemic content of the alternates here. Even so, we will be back. It's a lovely place. Just probably gonna stick with straight black coffee next time.

We stopped to get some coffee and not only the coffee was great but the service was wonderful. Loved every detail in the store. I complimented the owner and he was quick to let me know that all the credit goes to his wife. Nice family business, a must stop on Route 66.
