Was very pleased with this location! Extremely friendly staff, manager came by and checked on us, food was excellent, chicken penne and the parmesan steak with shrimp, broccoli and garlic mashed potatoes was excellent! Steak cooked perfectly medium!

Service was great! Suzy was wonderful! Food presentation was not as great!! My fiesta lime chicken was so sloppy that the sauce was dripping off side and I got it all over me and my shirt... guy who brought food out was not so great either, he just half way sat it down and that was part of the reason I got sauce on my shirt...

We made a stop at the Applebee’s in Hays during our family road trip, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. The service was warm, attentive, and fast — exactly what we needed after hours on the road. Our server checked on us often, made sure we had everything we needed, and the food came out surprisingly quick despite the dinner rush.
Everything we ordered tasted incredibly fresh. We tried two of the new menu items — the Grilled Cheese Cheeseburger and the Chicken Parmesan Fettuccine — and both exceeded our expectations. The cheeseburger was perfectly melted with a rich cheese pull and came with a flavorful tomato basil soup. The Chicken Parmesan Fettuccine was served steaming hot with a crispy, well-seasoned chicken breast over creamy Alfredo pasta. It was the perfect comfort meal to refuel after a long drive.
The restaurant was clean, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the staff made us feel welcome the whole time. If you’re passing through Hays, Kansas, or looking for a reliable meal on a road trip, this Applebee’s is definitely worth the stop. Highly recommend — 5 stars!

Felt rushed and out of place. As someone who was traveling to another state and just passing by, we felt judged big time. The waitress for our table had a very unwelcoming attitude, and even though they used professional words, they were not good at hiding their judgmental tone or body language. (I understand this isn't Applebees fault, but their employees tell a lot about a place) It wasn't as if we were dirty or smelled cause we just had both taken showers that morning. The food was average and I wouldn't recommend going there.

Great waitress, perplexed that our salads came out AFTER other guests that came in and ordered AFTER us received their hot meals and appetizers before us. Otherwise great experience and great food. P.s this was at 11 am Saturday August 16th 2025. We came in just 5 to 10 minutes after opening. Still recommend this place.

I sat at the bar on a busy Saturday afternoon. Bartender was friendly as were all the other employees I chatted with. Food was good and it was fast.
Ordered ahead for the order to be ready by 10:30pm, when we got there the order wasn’t ready until 10:45 and they didn’t even take the time to make sure the order was right. I ordered the blackened shrimp & andouille sausage penne and it only came with shrimp and penne. No peppers and no sausage. I expect to get half the money back in the morning for this dish since I was only served half the dish.

Ordered food for takeout on 8/1/25 and was absolutely terrible. Fries were stale and burger was dried out and over cooked. If this is the standard of food served I would not recommend anyone eating here.
