I was driving through here on the way to Denver and was so happy I stopped!
This cute little restaurant was such a pleasure to stop in. From the beautiful wall art, to the nice waitress.. the start of this restaurant experience was awesome!
I sat down and ordered a breakfast dish with a taco and loved all my food! The rice, the flavors and even the single taco all tasted amazing and authentic!
I would definitely come back if I was passing through!

Las Hefas is really good. I had the Ropa Vieja and loved it and my daughter had sizzling fajitas. Super clean on the inside and very spacious and they can accommodate really big groups in a dinner setting. The parking is curbside. I definitely would come here again!
Edit: I came back and tried the Sopes. THAT WAS REALLY GOOD. If you love Tamarind, the tamarind drink is a MUST. Their tacos are good too and i cant get enough of the rice! Added more photos.

We enjoyed everything about our dinner! The fajitas were perfect(beef, chicken and shrimp combo) homemade tortillas are delicious! I’m a bit of a salsa snob and they have AMAZING salsa!! Fresh and so flavorful! Service was great and food came out super fast. Atmosphere was delightful. Highly recommend!!

Las hefas is like a hidden gem here in Hays, KS. The first time I ate here was during one of their benefit nights, this night in particular 10% of sales made went to the Tourism and Hospitality Department at FHSU. Which I thought was really awesome since I am majoring in THM. But ever since that night I’ve been hooked. Their street corn is to die for and I absolutely love the sopes! Everything tastes so fresh and warm, it gives me the feeling of a home cooked meal. The service has always been superb and the atmosphere has a fun and inviting feel. I highly recommend if you’re passing through Hays or live in Hays and want to try something new to go to Las Hefas. You won’t regret it!

Uhh — okay I’m not sure how this place is so highly rated. The drinks tasted like dish soap and my sister concurs. The chicken in the enchiladas was unseasoned — it was shredded chicken you get straight from a can. The worst salsa I have ever had. Tables were way too close together. Service was awesome but if you rate this higher than 1/5 I really hope for your well-being you get of out of the state of Kansas sometime for some real Latin food

Las Hefas has been around for two years, and is a great and well-established addition to Hays's food scene. The Latin cuisine has authentic dishes from many parts of Latin America. Some are new and unexpected, and some of them are creative Latin takes on classics - like that Milanese de Pollo that's yes, probably one of the best breaded chicken cutlets that you've had, whether at your favorite diner or a part of German or Italian cuisine (which inspired a lot of Latin America dishes too!). The food is prepared fresh and fast, the service is friendly and helpful, the location is easy to get to for townies and visitors, and the atmosphere isnt fussy. Just welcoming and enjoyable. I'm careful with where I call myself a regular, but I'm a regular here! The beer selection is a particular highlight, and the full bar makes some creative cocktails. The prices are also honest and reasonable.

We like eating local when we travel. On our way from CO to KC we gave it a try. Amazing food & flavor. Portions were perfect. Wait staff was hustling. I got the Cuban flair and my wife fajitas. Seasoning was perfect!
