Oh my gosh! You have to have the German Sausage and Kraut! The Grebbel was yummy too! Gari was so helpful, welcoming and we will be back next time we are driving through Hays, Kansas

I was only in town for a week and found this while I did my laundry. I ordered Bierocks, Galuskies and Grebbel and seriously enjoyed every bite. I was in Germany for two and a half years and ate all kinds of gut truck food and restaurant meals tailored for tourists, but this homestyle like Deutsch food was something I really needed. I wish we had something like this back home.

Food is mediocre at best taste wise and absolutely abominable presentation wise. I've made plenty of bierocks before and I've never been able to see the meat through the top of it and the meat isn't well seasoned at all, not surprising considering the other restaurants these people own also don't know how to properly season food. The soup looks grainy and spotty and completely unappetizing and, like basically the rest of their food, is incredibly bland. If someone could please introduce these guys to salt and pepper the world would be a much better place

Dietary restrictions: If you can't have salt or if you're British, this place is great because they don't know what seasonings are.

I bought 3 orders of galuskies. When I got them, they were pink inside. My sister is a professionally-trained chef and I’m food safety certified so I know from my training and hers that ground beef is not safe to eat unless it’s medium well at least. These were not at all up to temp before they were taken out of the oven. I brought them back and talked to Dee and she told me that they’re supposed to be that color because they mix milk into the beef and that’s probably why they’re pink? Anyone who knows anything about cooking knows that that doesn’t make any sense. She told me I should just throw them in the microwave at home. No thanks, I’d rather not get e. coli from microwaved, rubbery beef in chewy cabbage. I don’t know how long these have been held at a temperature low enough for bacteria to grow but I know they have been held at the wrong temp since they’re pre-cooked before you order. Meaning no amount of microwaving is going to kill whatever diseases are in this food.

Kid-friendliness: Death by food poisoning is definitely not at all kid-friendly

I have eaten just about everything there and it is absolutely delicious. The first time there was hardly any cream on the beans and noodles but the second time it was great. Sausage and sauerkraut was good and so is the green bean dumpling soup and cod fish. I haven’t tried the Beirocks yet. I am pretty picky about them. I would give it a 4.5 out of 5.

The fish platter was good but the bieroch was tiny and tasteless. Go next door to Dillons and save $11. They have 6 bierochs for $18.99, Shirley's is $29.99. Outrageous!
