Restaurant had been recommended to me. Going to be in Hiawatha area regularly for business over the next couple of years and stopped into First Street Bar and Grill for lunch. Don't be in any hurry! I sat down at a table and waited...waited...waited...After fifteen minutes and not even being given a menu I got up and left. They were busy but with only one guy taking care of all the tables I may not have the time it requires to "dine" there. I don't know if they can't get the help needed or they just operate that lean. I have heard about a number of employers in this corner of Kansas that want to hire people but can't find applicants for the open positions. However, I don't have the luxury of a two + hour lunch. I wanted to give them a try but will continue going elsewhere. Subway, Pizza Hut and a Mexican restaurant (that's pretty good by the way!) are within blocks.
The Patty Melt dipped in some O Sauce… flavor explosion in the mouth! The service is hands down the best in at least 200 miles and SO patient with our family at the end of our road trip. The Bloody Mary was DANG GOOD too!
