I loved Brothers Railroad Inn but unfortunately it is permanently closed.

So sad that we’ve lost this restaurant, which was THE go to place for celebrating birthdays and anniversaries, taking guests from out of town, and for getting a great steak or pizza. Absolutely the best blue cheese dressing anywhere. We were lucky to have Brothers Railroad Inn for as long as we did ( since 2003, I believe), what with the pandemic, supply chain issues, and staffing shortages. I was lucky enough to eat there Memorial Day weekend with family visiting from out-if-town, and glad we got 2 desserts - the tiramisu and the Italian cream cake. Thanks to our waiter Chad for taking such good care of our party, and thank you to Patrick and the rest of the staff for the great food and memories. We’ll miss you.

This was our first visit here and overall it was just okay. The blue cheese dressing was fabulous and by far the best thing we tried. The spin dip was okay, but was very under seasoned and the chips served with it were burnt. We had to adjust our order multiple times because many items from the menu weren't available. After ordering coffee we were informed there wasn't any form of creamer available for it. The main dinning room smells a bit musty like an old library and overall the place has charm in some areas, but is really falling short of making the most of the space. We tried 2 of the specialty pizzas and they were good. Again, the flavor was better with some salt and pepper but should have been served with more seasoning than it was. We had a wonderful service! The guy taking care of our table, not sure on the name, but had dark curly hair, did all he could to make the best of our visit. He was quick to fill drinks and helped guide us around the holes in the menu.

Good food. But super pricey and they seem to always be out of stuff. Also don't think that the steaks we got were the correct size and when we mentioned it to waitress she just shrugged at us and walked away. Everything we asked her she just said I don't know and we barely saw her. Not impressed.

Excellent pizza! I live in Missouri and worth the traveling of 5 hours to get it. Great staff. Great prices.

Terrible service, outdated online menu, and wasn’t told PART OF MY MEAL WAS OUT OF STOCK UNTIL I PAID $20 and got HOME. Don’t mind paying for a GOOD meal but this was not that! Skip and go to big cheese or anywhere else.

One of the best places to find in Independence! I've always had a good experience and the food is top of the line.

More like a trainwreck. My wife, son & I "ate" here this evening. Despite being faily small inside the wait staff seemed understaffed but did well. We ordered spinach dip as our appetizer and it was reasonably good, although we both got upset stomachs later on. It took longer to get our main course than it should have, at least 45 minutes. What really turned us off was when the mains came out. My wifes prime rib was an absolutely horrid cut of meat. For something that cost 20+ dollars (for the petite) and was described as a silver whatever choice cut it had no marbling rather three large (1"+) cancer spots of fat and was overcooked even for being medium well. Her baked potato was nearly raw and uncooked. I had ordered the "homemade" baked chicken alfredo...It was the absolute worst alfredo I have ever had. The chicken was very dry and overcooked. The pasta was rubbery and frankly the sauce was nothing special at all. I have had better sauce from a jar. It was literally unpalatable and after 2-3 bites we stopped eating. My son got the (Kraft blue box) mac & cheese, which, while cooked well, was kind of a shock that a higher priced place who brags about homemade this or that can't make homemade mac & cheese. When he was done we left our uneaten "meals" and I asked the wait staff if they had to split tips with the kitchen as there was no way I would be tipping them. They removed the alfredo from our bill after I explained the issues with apologies even saying that they hear the same thing all the time, yikes. We will absolutely never be returning to this place and I strongly advise anyone reading this to pass on it as well.Edit: I almost forgot, they were out of garlic bred entirely! For what seems to be a mostly Italian menu and you run out of garlic bread?!?! What a joke.

I'm very unimpressed. The main course took forever to arrive to our table. When it arrived it was not worth the time we waited nor the money we spent on it. The baked potato was undercooked the steak cut was very hard to eat and the only food that was actually consumed was by our child. I definitely won't plan on bringing my family back to this establishment.

Cheap cuts of meat at high prices. Not fine dining quality but priced like it is. Service was not great either. We won't be back.

I have not dined solo for years. Unbeknown to me there was a pub crawl the same Saturday night so the place was packed. I was greeted and seated promptly after a short wait. My salad was cool and crisp with a nice variety of ingredients and I ordered the house made blue cheese dressing. I don’t even like blue cheese and I loved the dressing. My 10 inch chicken, bacon ranch piazza arrived promptly. Crisp crust and a nice blend of cheese and bacon. My only regret was watching a couple at the table next to me chow down on a big plates of catfish. Should I have ordered fish? I must return to find out.
