Really liked the pop up collaboration (great menu of food and drinks) but our server was incredible slow, forgot my drink, water, napkins, and dipping sauce for fries on multiple occasions! But the atmosphere is great, I would try again on a regular night.

Went to the pop up nightmare before Christmas. Great atmosphere. It was all around fun time. The pumpkin king drink the bomb ?

The food pictures looked fancy and delicious, but they also had an extensive kids menu so we decided it was worth a try with our wild 2 and 4 year old. I got the blackened catfish with was delicious. I wanted to lick my plate. My husband got the chicken piccatta. The chicken was moist and crispy. He ate every bite. My 4 yo got the sausage pizza. It was the fanciest sausage pizza he has ever eaten. The sauce was so yummy. He ate half and then ate the sausage off the rest. My youngest got the meatball sub. I was a bit nervous. It was big. We cut it up and he gobbled it up. It had the same yummy sauce. Our friends had the meatball sub and meatloaf and thought they were superb. Our server was on it. She was so kind to us even with our crazy boys, she refilled cups better than any place I've eaten in a long time. She seriously was the best waitress I've come across and she was the only one. She had several tables to take care of and was running her tail off. The price of food and the care we received was worth far more than we paid. This is a locally owned restaurant and I hope they do well!!!

Service and atmosphere were great! Perfect hidden little gem! The food was amazing and so beautiful. Could not have asked for a better experience! So excited to have such an high end food experience without having to go down town. It will definitely be one of our favorite place!

I hate to give this place such as bad review as the waitress was really nice, and I realize they were short staffed (only one waitress who served all the tables and worked the bar as well), but Food was horrible! Wings were so dry, tough and overcooked. Hardly any meat on them. My husband ordered the salmon and it came out RAW!! Just looking at the Salmon one could tell it wasn't cooked as the color was off! Soup of the day was tasteless.

We loved our first visit to DR. Negative reviews seem to be skewed towards them underperforming or not being prepared for crowds during restaurant week which makes sense. We showed up at 5:45 on a Saturday. Table available and happy hour on the weekends (only til 6)! Got super crowded before we left, though. Our waitress Angie was perfect. Knowledgable, fun and accommodating of our baby daughter. Food was incredible for the price. My only caveat is that the menu is super limited so check it out ahead of time and make sure you know what you want, it's small. Skirt steak is out of this world. Enjoy.

I patronize this restaurant pretty regularly, one could say I'm a regular. Tonight I went in and menu had changed slightly...they now had ribs, specifically ribs with polenta and a tomato chutney. I decided to give that a whirl and good golly was I in for a treat. The ribs were so tender the meat literally slid off the bones when I picked them up. The polenta was creamy, and the tomato chutney added that hit of acidity and umami that tied the whole plate together. I've had just about everything on the menu and what I experienced tonight was fantastic. Then there was the desert, the deserts made here are are phenomenal, I had strawberry short cake and it was absolutely heavely. If you haven't tried this place you absolutely need to. I have thoroughly enjoyed every dish I've ever ordered, while the salmon is my personal favorite, you need to try the ribs before they are gone!

I really wanted to enjoy Deep Roots. It's not that the food was bad or that the space wasn't cool. It really was! But it was not really what we had expected to experience. To elaborate, we went during restaurant week this year and had a reservation. We waited for quite some time to get seated and were ultimately placed in a corner that was awkwardly shared with the tables next to us. They were out of the dishes that both me and my friend wanted to order, so we resorted to our second options. I believe we both had a seafood pasta of some sort. It was good, but it came out slightly cold. The staff were kind, but not particularly knowledgable. We asked about a few drinks and they didn't know what we were talking about. I don't remember exactly, but as it turned out, the waiter was the bartender, but was admittedly not an actual bartender, so she was really only able to pour wine and simple mixed drinks. I think they just weren't really prepared to take the traffic that restaurant week drives. I do hope that they do well, but it wasn't our best experience that week.

Very impressed with this cute little restaurant. The food is excellent (I had the slow cooked pot roast and my husband had the meatloaf and then a bacon cheeseburger on the second visit). The wait staff are very pleasant and attentive, and it was overall a good experience. We have sat both inside and out on the patio. It was very quiet both times we went (Saturday evening), so we hope to get the word out so it can be a great success.

Great food! Blackened catfish, salmon, mashed potato croquettes, and cocktails were so good.

Both the meatloaf and the salmon were excellent as were the sides of salad, mashed potatoes and roasted carrots. All had unique flavors that are not often found in mid price restaurants these days. For desserts we were also impressed with the Lemon Torte and Chocolate/Coconut! The service was also great and meeting and chatting with an owner/chef added to the experience. We would highly recommend this “hidden gem” conveniently located near the junction of I-35 and I-635!

I would eat here again for sure. The restaurant is welcoming, clean and has great service with fair prices. The food was excellent. I ordered the stuffed mushroom appetizer and the pork chop dinner with a salad. The bourbon sauce on the pork is yummy. The blue cheese dressing was amazing. One of the best I've had.

Service was great, and waitress was super friendly and attentive. We had a large group and food came out promptly considering how many people were there, and was delicious. Recommend the mashed potato balls and 1$ wings.

The chicken piccata is my fave! Everything is good, you should eat here. They have limited hours, but it's worth the wait.
