Took my little here for the train experience and to avoid the hassle of the Crown Center location. From what I’ve read, this is the original Fritz’ opened in 1954.
The food was just okay and the restaurant was tiny and fairly run down; spent a good amount of time wiping down the chair and highchair where we sat and the floor was sticky. The trains were (mostly) functioning but two of the phones didn’t work and the part of the restaurant where we sat was not thoroughly air conditioned.
From what I’ve heard, the Shawnee location is newer and nicer. If you want the full “tourist” experience and have the time and patience, hit up the Crown Center location.

I took my kids to Fritz specifically to see the trans bring the food. As soon as we walked in, I knew this Fritz was not like the one down town. The trays the food would essentially be brought down on were filthy. It looked like dried pancake batter. I spent $48 and my kids didnt even get the Fritz experience. There should definitely be signs around letting you know the trains do not bring you food at this location. The food was good. The waitress was as good as she could be I guess.

Absolutely PHENOMENAL!!! Our group of 14 arrived here today at the Shawnee location for lunch. We were met by friendly staff and seated right away. Once we ordered our food, it arrived quickly! We were impressed! All 14 orders were correct, served hot and fresh, and so good!! Great size portions! The service was absolutely great! Refills were quick. The atmosphere is so fun! We all enjoyed our food arriving by train. The kids had a great time. and only 2 little ones had a nugget and few fries left. Everyone devoured their food. It's definitely a must experience! We will definitely be back! ☆☆☆☆☆

I didn't expect much when we saw the outside of the restaurant, but the food was absolutely delicious, even my picky kid ate all her food! The kids were so excited to see the food delivered to our table by a train!
Wheelchair accessibility: The bathroom is extremely small. I don't think a wheelchair could fit. There is a pull bar but I still think someone who needs assistance with mobility would struggle.

Good experience. Don't expect culinary excellence, but the food is good. Had to cut the core out of the tomatoes in my sandwich & it had a sparing amount of lettuce, but it was still good food.
My daughter and I went for the first time today. We both thought it was a cool, unique, fun place. We also enjoyed the burgers and shake. We also thought the trains driving around and bringing our food was awesome as well! Thanks for the awesome experience and we will be back again! 🚆

I had a wonderful experience today. I got a grilled cheese and chocolate milkshake. Both were delicious. I primarily came here for the experience not the food but am happy to report the food was delicious. You sit yourself and order via the telephone at your table. Pretty cool experience. They have t shirts, hats, train whistles and train conductor ducks to purchase too. Kids would have a blast here! I would definitely make the effort to stop by for lunch or even breakfast.

We enjoyed our meal at Fritz's Restaurant. Our Granddaughter loved seeing the train delivery the hamburgers, onion rings, & fries.
