After trying whole bean coffee from nearly every establishment in the KC area, I can confidently say that Garden House has the best coffee around. Every roast we have purchased has made consistently delicious espresso. Sometimes we get a complimentary drip with our purchase which is so kind. Outside of whole bean coffee, GH is a lovely environment to work or commune. They represent several local artists and shops, including Supply Closet and Bread Friends. It’s a must stop if you’re an out of town visitor or local.

My friends and I came here for the first time and were really excited to try it. Unfortunately, the service was very disappointing. When my friend asked, ‘Can I see a menu?’ because she couldn’t see it clearly, the male employee gave her a dirty look, pointed behind him, and said ‘It’s right there.’ He wore a black and white baseball tee and had tattoos. His attitude was awful and unpleasant. No smile, no kindness, and it felt like he was annoyed to even be there. It gave us the impression that he thought he was better than us. Honestly, when working in customer service, even if it’s just being polite for the sake of professionalism, there should be a basic level of friendliness. The rudeness really ruined the mood, which is disappointing because we were so excited to try this place.

Cute little shop with delicious coffee, I ordered the lavender latte and my friend had brown sugar latte, both delicious. Beautiful plants( some needed tlc) everywhere. My only complaint was the gentleman that took my order was rude, seemed as though we bothered him by. Caught him laughing with the lady working beside him but as soon as we made eye contact he went back to the sour/ bothered look with a frown. I watched as the gentleman treated everyone that same way, because of him we will not be back. Good luck!

Cute coffee shop tucked in a corner that I wouldn't know about if not for Google maps. Really nice space to chill. I like that they serve coffee in actual ceramic/glass mugs. It sort of doubles as a boutique selling clothes, accessories and of course, plants.
Charming little coffee shop with a lovely selection of locally made goods, though the prices are on the higher side. The coffee was decent, but I found the menu a bit limited. During my visit, I didn’t feel especially welcomed by the staff, and the overall atmosphere felt a bit exclusive (only none white persone). It seems like the shop is catering to a newer crowd in the neighborhood, which might not reflect the local community as much as I’d hoped.

Hidden Gem. The barista is very good. I have had their Latte and Capp. Both are top notch. They roast their own coffee. In my top 3 for KC, next to Messenger and Oddly. Additionally they have an adorable gift shop with unique and vintage finds.
