Don't let this place fool you from the outside, even though it's looks small but the food quality and the services is exceptional from this local family own restaurant. I had the tamales and it was very flavorful and pack with so much. Came in for a quick lunch to go.

Omg! Mad that I only recently found this place. My first visit was a couple weeks ago. Tiny place but very homey. A diner area with several bar stools. Then a side room (by the time I went back a few days later) changed into taller bar area with tall stools. I got to go the 1st time. I ordered the enchiladas casserolas served with rice and beans it was absolutely out of this world! 3 corn tortillas, grilled. Barbacoa, mild enchilada sauce and cheese in between each layer (pictured) . Then 2 eggs (cooked how you prefer...I chose over medium), enchilada sauce and sour cream on top. Rice was lightly seasoned as well as the beans with cheese on top. I couldn't finish the meal in 1 sitting but stuffed myself as it was so good! I was back less than a week later to get the very same dish (dine in this time) tried the fresh guacamole and mild salsa verde on that 2nd trip... also yum! This place is a hidden gem that transports me to Mexico. It's on you if you haven't been here yet! Just wish they were also open in the evening. Tried to get pics of all the menu areas. Also, the owners are so welcoming and warm. Always a huge plus for me.

Perfect lunch stop off i70 during our road trip. Owner was friendly and food was delicious. Four of us fit at the counter stools. We tried brisket sandwich, enchiladas casserole, huevos rancheros, and posole. Filling and flavorful!

Seriously delicious food..the coffee was awesome too. Tiny place cranking out excellent, inexpensive food. We were just driving through KC and decided to make a pit stop..so glad we did!

The line was not too bad when we got there but I have heard it could go down four blocks in the neighborhood on 7th and Central . Being a proud resident of Kansas City Kansas. I somehow had never eaten at slaps in the two years we have lived here .
