Was so excited when I found out the famous Tippins pie could be purchased at the grocery store. Memories of the pies at Tippins Restaurant from the 90’s made me anticipate tasting one again. Sad to day I was disappointed. The banana cream had banana flavor, but no fruit. The filling was rather grainy. The strawberry was better, but just not the wonderful pies they used to serve at the restaurant.

So many pies to choose from and so delicious. There was a Tippen's in Fort Worth, Texas for years and it was a favorite place of mine to dine. Great sandwiches and soups, plus the best egg custard pie I ever tasted. Another favorite pie was strawberry/rhubarb, it was awesome. Sadly it closed, sure do miss it.

Tipping was my go to restaurant. I would do anything to get the soup recipe. And I always went with my grandma and my mom and aunt. It was our family place. And it is so delicious. The brownies (warmed with nuts please), the Boston Cream, the rhubarb, the cornbread..... and oh my the Dixie. It's our holiday treat now. Thank God the pies are still around !!!!!

Our family used to eat at the Tippin's restaurants back when they were around and the pie was always the highlight of the meal. I'm glad to see they are back in business even if in a different form!

I am in love with your chocolate French silk pie and I think it's the crust!!! Your pie has the very best crust of all the pies I've ever bought!!!!

If you are going to add chocolate chips to a traditional pecan pie you need to label it clearly that he has chocolate in it. I was looking forward to a wonderful piece of pecan pie on Thanksgiving and instead I got this terrible taste in my mouth I could not identify at first. I had to look up the ingredients to believe you actually put chocolate in it. Ultimately, no one liked it and I had to throw it away.

I miss Tippin's so, so much. I went to the Independence location nearly once a week with my family, and everything on the menu was fantastic. My favorite was the Shepperd's Pie. We went there often enough that all the servers knew us, and they always treated all their customers so well. I loved the Bannister location as well. And the pie? There will never be a better bakery. Bostom Cream was my favorite, followed by the Strawberry.
