Excuse yourself. 20% Gratitude Fee? What service are you giving us in a coffee where you clean up after yourself? It’s insane to see an owner to this on as required to help employee benefits. It’s your owner responsibility to provide livable wages and benefits to your employees! Not shifting the cost to your customers. The entire US consumer trend is protesting high tips and you are setting yourself to fail.

English muffins a DEFINITE must get, chocolate chip cookie simply Devine, these little cute cake type treats with caramel, orange and lemon icing have a different texture but omgoodness they are delicious with the carmelized bottom. Breakfast sandwich was more then I expected, they do not skimp on anything!! Last thing, gotta try the green mayo and fries which are my favorite now and will drive over an hour to get them again. Lastly, the young man who I believe was a manager was extremely pleasant and helpful.

Every time I have come into this location the workers serve people their food before me, despite my order being placed 10 minutes before. For a toasted bagel I might add maybe if your workers gave any sort of customer service people wouldn’t mind the mandatory gratuity. I rather talk to the homeless people outside of the building because they are more polite and respectful than the staff. Come in prepared to wait if they decided they don’t like you the moment you walk through the door. Please get a new staff so I can start coming back. Actually shocking.

This is a wonderful business in Lawrence. They serve fabulous pastries, food and drink and everything is unique but still something you find yourself coming back for. Worth it too because you know nowhere else will execute as well and thoughtfully! Staff are friendly the environment is so cozy and nice as well. Bonus points for the extremely minimal single use plastic - can’t think of anything actually! All paper products and even the branding is ink stamped which I thought looked great and was genius. This is the kind of business in that makes mass street and Lawrence what it is!!! Highly recommend for a morning coffee and breakfast date or just a quiet study sesh. Worth the trip and spend!

Serene setting with scrumptious and unique pastries featuring their sourdough bread. Friendly folks making wonderful food in an unassuming location. I always stop in when I can , and enjoy the most well prepared gourmet meal.

Beautiful place, great location for us. It was sad how bad the shot i got was. The man who made the shot Saturday afternoon lacked what I would call a basic understanding of how to make a basic cup of coffee. My shot was bitter as hell and burned to the core. An old cup of McDonald's black would have been a better experience. Sorry to be so harsh, but that kid shouldn't be managing your shop when 40,000 people show up to watch their kid play in the band.

Delicious baked goods, mediocre coffee, insane prices. Unless you're Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos or Mark Zuckerberg, I don't know how anyone could afford to eat here and actually get their money's worth. A TWELVE-ounce iced mocha and a bacon egg and cheese bagel set me back $22. My boyfriend only got the bagel, and it set him back $15. They add a 20% non-negotiable service charge to every order, and as someone who has worked in cafes and bakeries, that is genuinely insane and dare I say, a little bit shady, as I was not told about it before, during, or after ordering. All that alluded to that was a sign near the register that is incredibly easy to miss. I'm all for fair wages as someone who has worked in food service and customer service for nearly a decade, but maybe reflect giving your employees fair wages by raising prices on the menu instead of subjecting customers to a 20% service charge with no verbal notice.

The pastries are so unique I wish we could have tried them all. You have to give the za’atar bagel a try as well as the baklava cheesecake. If you have dietary restrictions (vegan or gluten free) the staff know all the ingredients and can point you in the right direction. I was told a few items were gluten free (ie an oatmeal cookie, and the financiers) but you’ve got to ask! The coffee was also the best so far in Lawrence after trying a few places on Mass St. Give this place a try, you won’t regret it!
