“We had a company get together at Lawrence Beer Co. The service was ok. I'm not sure they were fit prepared for our large group as we only had one waitress.
The appetizers were good. The pretzel bites were amazing!! So soft with a crisp exterior.
The food kinda came out willy-nilly with others servers assisting. While that's normal in a lot of establishments, a server bringing out a dish and basically just setting it on the table as they didn't know whose it was... this demonstrated lackluster service.
I had a club. It was good. The waffle fries were good as well.
Overall, ok experience.”

“It was ok. Our waitress did her job as one would like. Never had a sangria without fruit in it. The cheese platter had its ups and downs. The 3 cheeses were good but the bread that came with it could not be cut to separate pieces and if you tried to tear it apart it just disintegrated. Loved the cheese sauce in the tortellini for the Cordon Bleu but found that part of the dish over cooked. The chicken parmesan was ok. And the chicken and tortellini in vodka sauce was ok but none were something to inspire a return visit.”

“This is a fine restaurant with one exception. We felt very rushed throughout the meal. Menus were handed to us before we even sat down and it went downhill. On at least three occasions I had to speak up and ask the servers to slow down and stop being so attentive so we could enjoy out meal and conversation. Every time I started a conversation with my son. whom we had not seen in awhile, someone interrupted with some trivial question. I am used to dining where the servers are essentially unobtrusive until needed. I am prepared to give this restaurant a try again because I did like the food. However, I am taking another couple out to clebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and I am going to be very up front about the service expected before we sit down. I get that "turn" is the name of the game but this isn't a fast food joint. If they expect to have repeat business with the older and well-heeled crowd they need to be a little more attentive to the needs of their customers.”

“I am so disappointed in Hyvee Bakery. I’ve been ordering my son and daughter’s birthday cakes there for many years and the cakes have always been perfect! Not this year. My daughter’s cake was sloppilu made and lopsided. What happened to Hy-Vee’s impeccable cakes? 😞 I still recommend Hy-Vee but the bakery manager needs to tighten things up.”

“DO NOT RECOMMEND (Yet somehow my review changed to "recommends" and I cant update it.) I've ordered the same chips and cheese here for years and never paid more than $3.50 -$5.00 for plain chips and melted shredded cheese. Tonight, the bartender you always have to watch your tab with (aka, you order a single and she'll pour you and charge you for a double / order 4 beers and your tab will show 6 etc) charged me $16 for plain chips and shredded cheese...charged me for full nachos (meat, all toppings, etc) and refused to change it. Go anywhere BUT HERE! You'll order a water and end up with a $20 glass of ice. There's 2 things in my life you don't mess with and that's my dogs and my money. I gave 2 options: (1) I pay it and never come back. (2) They charge me what I normally pay and I just never order it again. They opted to charge the full price. So, they chose $11-$13 over keeping a customer that's been going 1-2x a week for years. They're as dumb as they look. After updating business owners I know that take their employees there and a friend that was going to have them cater for her event of my experience , that $11 you stole from me just cost you a LOT MORE. You saw me as 1 person, but have no idea who I actually am. How unfortunate for you.”

Only thing is bathrooms men and women share the same room, if your not comfortable with that avoid using basthroom.”

“Went here on a spur of the moment, looking for a fun place to eat while in Lawrence. Didn’t want to just go to another chain restaurant. We were immediately excited being a car family, the old truck in the parking lot. When we went in there is a calendar being sold to raise money for troubled kids. It immediately felt like the right place to be. The atmosphere was so much fun! We had the absolute best waitress, Caroline. She was so welcoming, and fun to be around. We just celebrated our daughter’s birthday in heaven, and we really needed a good time out. We are looking forward to coming back soon! We felt like we’d known Caroline forever and she was truly a dose of sunshine on our rainy day!”

“Road construction slowed us a bit, but worth the detour. Ninth Street is closed but we came in on Indiana. Worth the detour! The Phad Thai is the best in town. The crispy tofu from the authentic menu is a favorite (pictured). Their menu offers a great variety, making it easy for everyone to find something they'll love. Staff was friendly and very attentive from the moment you walk in the door to the moment you leave. The restaurant is always clean and comfortable.
If you're looking for delicious Asian cuisine with excellent service and generous portions, this is definitely the place to go. Highly recommend!”

She had a big group seated by us but continued to provide excellent service to us as-well as the other tables around us. Our steaks were excellent, and the manager even comes to check up on you. “M & M Bakery is the place our family goes to for our special celebration cakes and desserts, and have done for over forty years! We recently had them prepare a large sheet cake celebrating an anniversary for our large group. The cake and frosting were fresh and moist and very delicious. “HOORAY FOR ICE CREAM! Baskin-Robbins has been a favorite of one for decades (literally). My favorite flavor is Daiquiri Ice and it used to be available only during the summer months. NOT ANY MORE! YAY! it's year round! As I'm driving all over Larryville doing errands I think why not pop by and get some? It's on the way home (Kinda, sorta. Ok! Not at all but who cares?) 🤣 I get there and walk in. Folks, it's so clean! And bright and airy! Love it! I look at all the flavors and spot my fave and that's when I'm told it's year round now instead of summer only! The clerk is super friendly and so helpful! I spot a coffee & oreo cookie flavor for hubby! Excellent! I request 2 small tubs for take away. The clerk explains to me that the small tubs are 8.00+ for 4 scoops and the next size up is 11.00+ for almost double. I bet he's a marketing major because I absolutely go with that. As he's bagging them for me I spot another fave-black walnut! YES! I ask for and get a small cup (it's protein because of the walnuts) and I eat it in my car (not driving). It's extremely creamy and the maple taste is perfect with the crunchy walnuts. YUMMY! I hurry up eating it as I don't want my oversized tubs melting and well, because it's that good and I don't want to share with hubby nor tell him I had extra. I also ditch the evidence. This wonderful place on 23rd is a slice of Heaven. Try the Daiquiri Ice!!!!”

“Love this place. The atmosphere, service and the variety of great cuisine all make this my favorite place to dine, when I'm in Lawrence. I live in Johnson County, so my only complaint is that they don't have a location in Overland Park or Olathe! Mohammed always seems to make an effort to stop by the tables, to ensure all the guests are completely satisfied. The Raja dip is delicious, and you'll NEVER have a better glass of lemonade! There's even a bowl out in front of the building, for dogwalkers to stop by and give their furry friends a refreshing drink of water. (It's the little things). The KC location is equally as nice, but this spot is a gem on Mass Street, for sure.”

They will go above and beyond for you prior and on your day. I have nothing but wonderful and raving things to say about the staff at Taco Zone. It’s the talk of our friend group and work on how amazing the food was, which is always good to hear since wedding food is known for being average… but they were far from average. If you are thinking of booking them for your next event, take this as a sign to do it! Thank you again, we wouldn’t have wanted anyone else to serve our favorite people but TACO ZONE!”

“I was actually expecting a simple tavern when I came into town to perform this past Friday. Once inside though, the venue had a night club vibe to it. Still intimate, but more upscale than a regular bar. The layout is nice and clean. Plus the downstairs room is pretty cool and isolated to the point where 2 separate events can be held simultaneously. Bottom line is, Elmo's is a nice spot with good vibes and staff. Can't wait to return in a couple of months. Thanks for a good time.”

I've never seen it so busy that there's a line, and I've never had to wait to be served. It can feel a little cramped with more than 3 groups in at a time, but there's more seating in a back room that helps with that (though I don't think I've seen outlets in the back room).”

The cod was the best I'd had in years, it was incredibly crisp and very, very flaky and tasty, cooked just right. And the cole slaw also stood out as the best I'd had in years. Culver's has a new customer, appreciating their food and not just their excellent customer service and their clean, pleasant place. The prices are reasonable too. I haven't enjoyed a restaurant of any level that much since just forever.”

“Had a great experience before leaving Lawrence this morning. The cafe we were planning on going to for breakfast was closed, so we went a couple storefronts down to Global Cafe. The weather was gorgeous and we ate outside. I had a fantastic smoothie and latte. In the time it took us to finish our meal, I watched as the waitstaff handed out no less than eight free to-go breakfasts and coffees to what appeared to be people without housing. From the interactions I witnessed, it was clear that these were regular customers, and the waitstaff treated them with such dignity - just like any other customer. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed but kept a positive face, well done servers, stocking, and cleaning staff! Just slow that atmosphere down a bit, perhaps move the tables right next to the line for buffet food for comfortability and space, and I think this place will be successful!! “Hands down the best Asian American food I've had since moving to Lawrence. Fried rice was fresh and had that wok hei flavor you'd want in rice. The sesame chicken was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside and delicious! Not too much sauce, and not too sweet either. And the egg roll was phenomenal. The most surprising part was the portion which is almost as much as what my wife and I would eat together. I will definitely be back to sample the rest of the menu.”

“My issue with taco johns isn't taco john's, they're great. It's the people I meet at the drive thru. The first one is the guy who's throwing a party for 50 of his closest friends and is getting all the food at the taco john's drive thru. It takes him forever to order, it takes them forever to make it, then he invariably has some problem that requires a long discussion at the window. (I also meet this guy at the pharmacy drive thru, weird). The second is the guy at the exit (only large enough for one car) who's trying to turn left across 2 lanes of traffic and can't seem to get it done. Somehow I meet more of these people at taco john's. But taco john's is the best, I go to the drive thru, order 2 meat and potato burritos, boom I'm in and out and omnomnom.”

They have Very Delicious Burgers and Fries. The Prices are reasonable.

Waiting tables is hard work anyway and it’s especially hard when it’s you first day and you don’t know the policy. Rick also reimbursed my meal and apologized. In short, They were quick to reach out and rectify the problem, which I am very grateful for and impressed. My faith in HuHot is restored and I will remain a faithful patron! Normally we have a very good experience, today… not so much! Had the WORST server I think I’ve ever had “Noah B”, or at least in the bottom 3. He did not visit our table 1 time until he brought the check, no refills. Then, I asked for a box. . . I had been through the line 1 time, had eaten about 5 bites when my stomach revolted (not because the food wasn’t good, I have a stomach issue that causes me to occasionally not be able to eat, unfortunately I don’t know it’s going to happen until I try to eat) I explained this to the server and he still would not let me have a box. So 1 whole meal wasted. It took him 8 minutes to make change for our bill, and then he shorted us $3. The cook was very polite and cooked our meal well. I don’t know if or when we will return to the Lawrence, KS HuHot, but it wont be anytime soon. Do better!”

The night before the Superbowl is one of their busiest nights of the year - they were building 10 pizzas at a time! “I do like most things from hog wild but I have to mention this. Sour cream does **not** get baked. When heated, it curdles into hard, dry crumbles, and that’s not how anyone wants their sour cream. It needs to be packaged separately or put on top of the potato, not underneath cheese and everything else. It’s gross and it ruins an otherwise perfectly fine potato. That just isn’t how dairy should be prepared for safe consumption. Really hope you guys take this as a serious request because this is not the first potato I’ve got like this and it’s really disgusting.”

“Recently had a combination sesame chicken meal with white meat for $13 and change! Red Pepper for the same meal came out to be $20+! I got two crab rangoons at Tryaki instead the three I would have gotten at Red Pepper.
But the portion size was bigger and quality was better at Tryaki since they dont upcharge for white meat.
Plus In place of the extra crab rangoon I got a canned Pepsi!
