Love this little local Mexican restaurant! Staff is always so friendly and perfect for college kids (or anyone) wanting cheap good margs! Food is great and they always accommodate to my GF diet!
Lived in Lawrence from 1994 until 2007. El Mezcal became a staple place to eat for the wife the kids and myself. Now the youngest is back to attend KU and I must say they are still hands down the best Mexican food I have had ever. The bean dip that comes with Queso Blanco over the top is amazing. Best refried beans too. Being a transplant to Texas I've been shocked at how I still compare every to El Mezcal.
