“I can't say enough great things about this place. First-time customers, the staff was excellent our waitress, Lisa, was absolutely superb. She was very helpful with our table that needed several food different accommodations, very knowledgeable of both the drink and dinner menu and offered great recommendations for what to order.The atmosphere was very crisp and lively. There were a few stairs to access the building and what appeared to be three floors of dining, and I only saw stairs. If you need any handicap needs, I would suggest calling ahead to make there are accommodations for such.The food, out of the six of us that dined, not a single one, had anything to complain about. From the Brussel sprouts, cocktails, and our entrées to the desserts, everything was spot on.Highly recommend checking this place out if you are in the area.“

“It is a brew pub, but also so much more. The building is in the older part of the city and reflects the history wherein. Service was friendly, beer was good, but it was the food both varied and different from most pub food. From Hungarian Goulash to Jaegerschnitzel. Well worth the visit.“

“Definitely a five star experience. Food was fresh and plentiful. Service from start to finish was spot on. We were never meant to feel left out. We had the choice of seating choices inside, which is wonderfully decorated, we sat outside to enjoy the nice weather.We had the Nut butta toast - which was a multigrain French toast with cherry coconut cashew butter, fig, yogurt, sliced bananas and honey ( yes it was as good as you think it would be. Look at the pictures.).We also had the chicken buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. Huge just a huge sandwich. It was fantastic.And I always want to try biscuits and gravy and they were very good, could have used ,maybe, a little more pepper or spice but very good biscuits and gravy.Maybe next time I’ll try some pie since they’re known for their pie“

“Wonderful small shop that has so many brands of soft drinks! Nostalgic ones like Ne-hi and new ones like Rick & Morty energy drinks. The best part is they will make any of them into a float to enjoy at the counter or to take to a near by park. Lots of fun candy too.“

I had garlic shrimp pasta and my husband had one of the specials which had pork stuffed cannoli we started with bread/olive oil and finished with coffee and bread pudding / crème brulle it was our 51st anniversary and the wait staff had a signed card for us at the table when we arrived. “I visited Spin for the first time for a late lunch on April 4th.It was empty when we arrived.I ordered the large Sonoma salad and a cup of the tomato and basil soup, and a glass of the Pinot Grigio. The salad was excellent! I recommend it 100%. Yummy and healthy. It’s tossed in a vinaigrette dressing. Both the soup and the salad came with a piece of the rosemary focaccia bread. I finished everything.Our waiter, Stone, was great!My bill came to $26 before tip.I’d definitely return“

“My husband made patio reservations here for my birthday and it was absolutely amazing! We live an hour and half away and it was definitely worth the drive. I had the paella and my husband had the lamb that was on special and both dishes were great. I am not normally a fan of lamb but it was so yummy I would order it for myself. The dessert and cocktails were perfect and the staff was excellent.We haven't stopped raving about it since we were there. I highly recommend it and we will definitely make another trip to visit!“

“This was my first time here and I was blown away. I got the chili rojo beef and sweet potato nachos. They were amazing on their own, but the hot sauce that came on the side was like a spicy cherry on top. And the margarita was one of the best I’ve ever had! Well done!“

“I wished I tried Twisted Fresh in Lawrence sooner. My sister-in-law asked us to try it so we did. OMG, I had the Baja Shrimp Tacos and I was blown away. Those girls who work there prepared our meal quickly and the tacos were freaking awesome. I have ate there three times in the past week and can't get enough of those tacos. I tried the Mahi Mahi tacos and they are great also but my favorite is the shrimp tacos. You will not be disappointed if you try them. And they have a fair selection of brews also which really compliment the food. I am a regular customer now! Awesome!“

“First time I've ever eaten here and I've lived in Lawrence since 2001. My wife and I were wanting some Italian food so decided to give them a try. We inadvertently selected a busy night, prom night, but still managed to get a table for two without a reservation in under 30 minutes. Our server was a Rockstar given the volume she was dealing with, including a prom group table of probably 14 or so. I got the Italian platter, which is a sampler basically. Wish I'd just ordered lasagne instead of trying a little of it.Parking: Downtown street parking out front will cost you during daytime hours. Evenings and Sundays are free. Free 2 hour lot behind the restaurant, but no direct access to the restaurant from the rear. You'll have to go around the block from the alley or walk through either Chipotle or PepperJax Grill“

“04/22/2024: My expectations were low when it came to Zen Zero and having lots of experience in Thai and pretty much every Asian cuisine. For a small college town of Lawrence, Kansas in middle America, Zen Zero isn’t that bad. The pad see ew could have had more char to the noodles, but the amount was plentiful and flavor pretty good. The seafood green curry was also very tasty. The spring rolls were okay. The prices were decently reasonable. I would definitely go again to Zen Zero when I’m back working in Lawrence. Thanks!“

“I just had my retirement party at 23rd street brewery and they were fantastic. The food was great, the service was exceptional. They watched the appetizer table and kept up, they brought out whatever we needed. They kept up with serving the party goers. Many said this is a great place for a party, the party was a success and their service was a great contribution to that. They also handled the shift as it was to be outside but Kansas weather took a big dive and arranged for us inside. Gwen was our assigned server and did an excellent job. It was just wondeful. “We've enjoyed Ramen Bowls for many years but this was our first time at the new location. We really enjoyed how spacious it is and the decor is great. It sure beats the times we had to wait outside for a spot or felt crammed in. It's always worth it for a bowl of delicious ramen or awesome gyoza!“

“EDIT TO ADD: Rick, the general manager contacted me same day and was amazing! Come to find out, Noah was brand new that day so, I understand the issue with the service. Waiting tables is hard work anyway and it’s especially hard when it’s you first day and you don’t know the policy. Rick also reimbursed my meal and apologized. In short, They were quick to reach out and rectify the problem, which I am very grateful for and impressed. My faith in HuHot is restored and I will remain a faithful patron! Normally we have a very good experience, today… not so much! Had the WORST server I think I’ve ever had “Noah B”, or at least in the bottom 3. He did not visit our table 1 time until he brought the check, no refills. Then, I asked for a box. . . I had been through the line 1 time, had eaten about 5 bites when my stomach revolted (not because the food wasn’t good, I have a stomach issue that causes me to occasionally not be able to eat, unfortunately I don’t know it’s going to happen until I try to eat) I explained this to the server and he still would not let me have a box. So 1 whole meal wasted. It took him 8 minutes to make change for our bill, and then he shorted us $3. The cook was very polite and cooked our meal well. I don’t know if or when we will return to the Lawrence, KS HuHot, but it wont be anytime soon. Do better!“
