You order up front at the counter (easily customize orders) then take the stable stand number your given and select your seats (tables, booth, outside-weather permitting). Server brings drinks and tableware, then food when ready (usually fairly quick). They check frequently for refills, etc. Not the lowest priced but very good selection within the category and decent service.“

“Food is really good, I've ordered many times from them but my last order included an $8.25 fee for carry out supplies. They charge a percent of the entire bill. No where in the check out process do they tell you this. This seems excessive for 6 utensil packs and 5 takeout containers. Many other BBQ places with similar price points do not charge this fee. If you are going to charge extra fees be up front about it.“

“We have had season tickets for several years. They always have a great show and fabulous food. However, The Jersey Boys was one of the best shows we have seen. My husband is not fond of the musicals, and he even loved it. We wanted to get tickets to see it again. Looking forward to next season.“

He has a son that has a gluten and dairy allergy and his one request for his birthday this year was a key lime pie that he could share with his son. That was not an easy task to locate. Even though it is not something they offer on their menu, Mud Pie Bakery was willing to do a special order for a gluten free, dairy free key lime pie and I must say, we were blown away! It was delicious! The crust was delicious, the filling was tangy, and the whipped topping was sweet and balanced everything else out! Not only that, but it looked beautiful! This is one of the restaurants that brings me back to my childhood roots. The spices and seasonings will hit you delightfully in the face upon entering. The lights here are subtle and elegant with mood lighting enhancing the experience. This is authentic food so anyone looking for an “Americanized” menu for their palette it will not be found here.

Professionalism is not an issue here. Delightful conversation and attentive.

I do notice a change in the attitude of the staff since about later 2025.

This may be because of any number of things. Around October 22 or 23 there were two bank robberies,first 1:30pm in Waldo area US bank Gregory Boulevard and Wornall Road-last one at 3:30pm a block away UMB Bank 49th & Main Street.

While the wait staff is excellent in a leisurely lunch, yet highly attentive; the sales staff are aggressive as soon as I am finished with the meal.
Even if I go to purchase a special treat not having a meal, and I want to shop. Also the price of chocolate treats were around $97.00 a pound for liquor chocolate truffles in February 2026!I don’t even look at the truffles anymore ( prices may fluctuate but I have noticed it’s unlikely prices go down).
