“I so enjoyed this restaurant. To be clear if you come here it should be for the food…the chef is amazing and you really feel like care and time was put into the meal. He even split an entree for my friend and I and the plating was amazing.
The atmosphere is light airy with little focus being put on the actual decor of the room, the walls are white it a hint of black as the accent.
This would be a great place for a special date, anniversary, or foodie. The atmosphere is quiet and wouldn’t be the best choice for a bachelors night.“

“My wife and I celebrated our 1-year anniversary at the Tavern in Prairie Village, where we had our first date. They accommodated our request to sit at the same table as our first date. The food and drinks are good. The Tavern will always be a special place to us.“

“We like the place overall, but meals are hit or miss. This last time, we thought we'd go for taco Tuesday. We both got soft tacos. I went with chicken and he went for beef. The chicken tacos were OK. Fairly drippy, with the first soft taco pretty soggy and kinda slimy feeling from the wetness. The other two weren't as bad. His were in a sea of grease. You can expect some grease dripping from beef tacos, but this was ridiculous. The whole bottom of the tray was a pool of grease. So this is not the place to go for tacos on taco Tuesday.“

“We spent New Year's Eve at Verbena and just had an outstanding experience. The four-course prix fixe dinner was really amazing, and the atmosphere was perfect for a special night out. Our server, Matthew, was above and beyond! He was incredibly attentive and kind and was ready to answer any questions we had. My husband loved the Bananas Foster, and when he mentioned it to Matthew, the chefs sent us home with an extra one, which was such a thoughtful surprise! The food, service, and attention to detail were all top-notch. We can't wait to come back and highly recommend Verbena for a memorable dining experience!“
