“It had been a while since we ventured into downtown KCMO, and we genuinely enjoyed the atmosphere. Overall, the food was good, though not quite at the level we expected for the price. One clear takeaway: avoid the fried items. We wish we had read the negative reviews beforehand, because the wings were unfortunately the worst we’ve ever had overly oily and lacking flavor. As a big wings fan, the execution was especially frustrating: the batter wasn’t right, the texture was greasy, and the seasoning simply missed the mark. The shrimp toasts were also disappointing—very soggy bread to the point that I felt it wasn't cooked in the middle.

That said, the “Japanese‑style” dishes featuring raw fish were much better. The sushi taco was a standout, and my friends really enjoyed the bone marrow beef tartare. For the main course, the scallop pasta had great potential, but the salt was heavy—particularly on the scallops and toward the bottom of the bowl, even after mixing.

On a positive note, the drinks, desserts and service were excellent, easily deserving five stars.“

“I wish I could say that I had been able to go here. I bought my tickets and then realized that we could not make it on that night. Yes...I get it. You don't generally get a refund or exchange for a show. But. I tried for an entire week just to get a reply to my emails and voicemails that I left. I even called the front desk of the hotel who said that they would pass along g my request to reschedule. Don't get me wrong...I get that they may not be able to do that.. but a simpme reply of maybe.. sorry. Or..thank you for your interest. But absolute silence. I hope the show was good. “My husband had the salmon and I had the buttermilk chicken sandwich. Both were excellent . We are never disappointed with our entree selections at Grand Street and we always take our family there when they come to town (. kid friendly).
I do want to give a shout out to Tom our waiter. He was very attentive and anticipated our needs. I always say a great meal can be ruined by poor wait staff. Tom def at the top of his game.....much appreciated.

“The food was great, and our waitress, Nicole, was great at giving service with a smile and good attitude. The only issue was that one of us ordered breakfast potatoes but got hashbrowns instead, though that seems to have been a kitchen mistake since the ticket still had potatoes when we paid. My family member didn’t mind the mistake though. My family and I had never been here before today, but we’ll definitely want to come back again.“

“Jim and the team there care, a rare commodity in this day and age. A friend of mine accidentally left behind his son’s teddy bear, 6 waitresses and Jim studied the picture and took down our numbers. Jim was in the back, one of the waitresses (wish I knew her name) said to hold on that Jim would want to be involved. Think about that, a waitress willingly involving a manager, and the manager CARED. 10/10 would recommend, good food, better people. I wish this business nothing but the best. 🙏“

“My husband and I drive from Omaha at least twice a year for date weekend and we always dine at Stock Hill. We love love love the ambience, service, food, all of it. It hits the mark for that dreamy, darkish, amber glow ambience, especially in the later months. This past weekend we went to KC on a whim and knew they were booked and decided we would be fine with a seat at the bar. When we inquired about a table for 2, the hostess explained that they were booked and could sit at the bar. We were totally great with that! But the “head honcho” came out of nowhere and told us he actually had a table for 2. The cherry on top? He proceeded to seat us at the table we first sat at when we went there for date weekend years ago. Thank you! 🥰“

“I love kitties hamburgers, and have highly reviewed them in the past. I was really looking forward to today to one this Friday afternoon and I have memorized their hours.
Behold, they’re closed until the end of February. Was a very small faded cardboard sign on the door.
If they really cared about their customers, they’d have a big one that you could see from the street without having to park and walk um readable one .
And they would at least update their website.

“Local Kansas Citian....stayed this weekend with my husband and had an AMAZING time! The room was spacious and clean! Bed was super comfy, and it was actually very quiet! We could see the city life below from our corner room, but most of the noise was completely blocked out! The hotel bar and the terrace bar were both amazing! And breakfast at the hotel was to die for! We will definitely be staying again!“
