“The day we were there there was no food available but I understand that usually there is. The enclosure is quite tall, higher than many facilities so there, so there is less problem with the ball hitting the ceiling. There is some seating (picnic tables), but I advise bringing your own chairs if you are an observer rather than a participant. There is ample parking.“

“🚨GUACAMOLE CHANGE! We’ve been coming to Ponaks for 30 years. The guacamole has aways been one of our favorites. Today we ordered it and immediately noticed something was different. We asked the server and he confirmed that they have changed their recipe, and it’s for the worst. They’ve added “filler” by putting pico and other ingredients into it. It’s not even close to what it was. I hope they don’t start changing their food and Margaritas!!! There is a reason people keep coming back year after year! Please dont mess with perfection Ponaks!“

“The food was great but I wouldn’t come here on an evening of you want good service. My husband and I did a tasting tour near by and wanted something to eat before we headed back to the Air BnB. Immediately you could tell how the experience was going to be when we didn’t order drinks right away and didn’t see our server again for about 15 minutes. She was very obviously more interested in paying more attention to customers that ordered drinks right away. She didn’t give her name otherwise I would I mention here. We only got one water and she didn’t come back to us again. We went to go to the hostess to try to pay our bill, ended up stopping her as she was leaving the bar. I give 2 stars out of 5. That’s only because the food was really good. I don’t think I would come back here. Maybe during the day would be better but I don’t know if I’d come here again anyway.“

“Great Atmosphere Food And Service Top Notch“

“It was Friday in early November, just days after Halloween. I came from out of town to a job interview, at Country Club Plaza. I was trying to find a place before going to the Power & Light District later that night & after my interview. I was going to go somewhere else, but they had 30 min wait. So I'm not from here, don't know KC well (unless I have my GPS), and new to the bar scene in the metro area. Suddenly, a place called "The Bar" came to my Google Search. I almost didn't want to come here. I'm thinking to myself "just go, you don't come to KC often"...& I did. The Bar West Plaza was actually better than I thought it was going to be. I also didn't know they had multiple places until I realized that before Thanksgiving. Not to mention, they have karaoke??? YES! I couldn't do karaoke hence going to the P&L District & due to time, I wouldn't have made it back in time...sadly. In the end, I had two bartenders (Katie & Adrianna) who were by far stellar at their job (from start to finish). I was very impressed. A local patron told me to try their wings, you will regret it if you don't. That man wasn't joking. Holy...😇 I give this place 4 out 5 stars. The ONLY reason why I didn't give it 5 out of 5 is because of the lack of parking. The rest is by far awesome.“

“Can't rate the food, was here for a retirement celebration and I didn't eat. 30+ in a private room with 1 server and she seemed to know everyone, even with us all moving around. I have no idea how she knew everyone's drinks and kept up with it. Acoustics was not great, very loud, but I was impressed with the server. It was a good space and the place seems popular.“

“I stopped in at Amerisports Brew Pub inside Ameristar Kansas City, and this place was exactly what we needed.

The food was excellent fresh, flavorful, and definitely worth coming back for! From the moment we arrived, the greeters and waitstaff were welcoming, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The entire environment had such a great energy comfortable, lively, and inviting without feeling overwhelming.

What really stood out to me was the customer service and atmosphere. Everyone seemed genuinely engaged in creating a great experience, and that makes such a difference when dining out.

“I had I think the most delicious chicken and pear salad I’ve ever had in my life here. There was a couple of conferences going on inside the hotel so the restaurant and bar area was crowded and there was only one staff person waiting on everyone. I don’t know what the situation was in the kitchen however, even though I had to wait for a service, I knew they were doing their best and when my salad came, it was so delicious. I also ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and it was a very generous pour maybe making up for the lack of help that day. It did help me enjoy my lunch very much. I would go there just to go there even if I wasn’t attending anything at the hotel.“
