“Had to leave a review because the bartender working during the Mexico game was LIT. 🔥 My homies and I were impressed. We never seen a bartender grab two bottles at once and pour shots that fast while still keeping everything cool. She was making so many drinks in no time it was fun to watch.

She was also hella cute 😂 and somehow managed to take a ton of orders at once without losing track of anyone. Even though the bar was packed she kept checking in letting people know she’d be right back and apologizing for the wait. You could tell she cared about everyone getting taken care of.

The whole crowd was waiting for HER to take their orders and once we saw her working, we understood why. She killed it.

We’ll definitely be back to see her again. I tried asking for her Instagram, but she was way too busy. 😂 If anyone knows it, help us out lol! I told her I would leave a review just for her 😂“

“Came in here for the first time on a Wednesday night for all day happy hour. Someone mentioned this spot on Reddit so I thought it would be good spot to rendezvous with some friends.

The poutine was absolutely DELICIOUS. Our bartender Caleb did a great job of pointing us to the bar's favorite food and drink items. I went with a margarita to drink and it hit the spot. Karaoke was happening which was a great vibe to be around.

“🚨GUACAMOLE CHANGE! We’ve been coming to Ponaks for 30 years. The guacamole has aways been one of our favorites. Today we ordered it and immediately noticed something was different. We asked the server and he confirmed that they have changed their recipe, and it’s for the worst. They’ve added “filler” by putting pico and other ingredients into it. “The food was great but I wouldn’t come here on an evening of you want good service. My husband and I did a tasting tour near by and wanted something to eat before we headed back to the Air BnB. Immediately you could tell how the experience was going to be when we didn’t order drinks right away and didn’t see our server again for about 15 minutes. She was very obviously more interested in paying more attention to customers that ordered drinks right away. She didn’t give her name otherwise I would I mention here. We only got one water and she didn’t come back to us again. We went to go to the hostess to try to pay our bill, ended up stopping her as she was leaving the bar. I give 2 stars out of 5. That’s only because the food was really good. I don’t think I would come back here. Maybe during the day would be better but I don’t know if I’d come here again anyway.“

“The day we were there there was no food available but I understand that usually there is. The enclosure is quite tall, higher than many facilities so there, so there is less problem with the ball hitting the ceiling. There is some seating (picnic tables), but I advise bringing your own chairs if you are an observer rather than a participant. There is ample parking.“

“It was Friday in early November, just days after Halloween. I came from out of town to a job interview, at Country Club Plaza. I was trying to find a place before going to the Power & Light District later that night & after my interview. I was going to go somewhere else, but they had 30 min wait. So I'm not from here, don't know KC well (unless I have my GPS), and new to the bar scene in the metro area. Suddenly, a place called "The Bar" came to my Google Search. I almost didn't want to come here. I'm thinking to myself "just go, you don't come to KC often"...& I did. The Bar West Plaza was actually better than I thought it was going to be. I also didn't know they had multiple places until I realized that before Thanksgiving. Not to mention, they have karaoke??? YES! I couldn't do karaoke hence going to the P&L District & due to time, I wouldn't have made it back in time...sadly. In the end, I had two bartenders (Katie & Adrianna) who were by far stellar at their job (from start to finish). I was very impressed. A local patron told me to try their wings, you will regret it if you don't. That man wasn't joking. Holy...😇 I give this place 4 out 5 stars. The ONLY reason why I didn't give it 5 out of 5 is because of the lack of parking. The rest is by far awesome.“

“Charlie Hoopers never disappoints! While half of our party was there for one of their famous custom hot dogs, almost everyone ended up choosing a custom burger or chicken sandwich. I chose the Hickory Chicken and coupled it with a side of sweet potato tots which I highly recommend. Our group shared a large Bavarian pretzel which comes with stone ground mustard and a queso cheese sauce that was excellent. Don't overlook Charlie Hoopers as just some sports bar with bar food or you will miss out on some delectable food choices.“

“I had I think the most delicious chicken and pear salad I’ve ever had in my life here. There was a couple of conferences going on inside the hotel so the restaurant and bar area was crowded and there was only one staff person waiting on everyone. I don’t know what the situation was in the kitchen however, even though I had to wait for a service, I knew they were doing their best and when my salad came, it was so delicious. I also ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and it was a very generous pour maybe making up for the lack of help that day. It did help me enjoy my lunch very much. I would go there just to go there even if I wasn’t attending anything at the hotel.“

“Very nice staff, they truly have a friendly neighborhood vibe. What stood out was the bartender took one look at my ID and started using my name every time they talked to me. It felt nice and polite. I was thanked (by I’m assuming the owner) on my way out for stopping in. It’s the little things like this that keep small businesses in business.“
