“This is our third visit to this restaurant I thought they deserved some props. Food was tasty, portions were large and prices were very good. There was four of us and each person ordered a full plate lunch and drinks. Our check was around $90.00. Now some might freak at that but we all took home boxes with enough food for a second lunch. Sarah, Christina, and Alice all did an amazing job at the bar. Amanda was a stellar server, and Sai is a master on the grill. Martin was observant and helpful as a manager. Chris came and spoke to us specifically about our steak and hamburger orders. Incredibly knowledgeable about how beef should be cooked to have the most flavor. If you are still reading this long review, you need to know what happened at the end of our meal to understand how truly amazing everyone is at Governor Stumpy’s. I had a medical emergency and was unable to walk. I was guided to a table and I lost consciousness. I’m not sure how long I sat there, but a doctor who was eating at the restaurant was immediately called over. I believe Chris stayed with me the whole time too. After 20-30 minutes and I felt I could move, Chris had her staff surround me and line up all the way to the back door (I’m pretty sure this is how it happened, but things were a bit fuzzy) to help me to our car to go to the ER. I did not want to have an ambulance come and they respected that. I am not a religious person, but I felt like Chris and her staff were angels surrounding me to help me through this scary situation. I am fine now and can’t wait to go back to Governor Stumpy’s. Thank you a million times over to everyone!“

Awful I tend to get excited about tots, so when they are over cooked it is a real downer.“

“We had our wedding and celebration at The Summit Grill in Lee’s Summit last night. WOW!!! I cannot give this place and their employees enough kudos. Shana, the event coordinator was exceptional and very responsive. The food was so good….everyone raved about how much they loved it. We did an appetizer buffet and chose a veggie tray, spin dip, chicken wings, chicken sliders, cheeseburger sliders and steak street tacos. The two dedicated bartenders we had were the very best! We had the back bar and outdoor area with a fire pit. It was above and beyond what we expected. I give this place the highest recommendation for any event. Also, their happy hour can’t be beat! “There are several locations of The Bar all over the local KC area and I finally got a chance to see why there are multiple locations. I went for a work lunch in the Country Club Plaza area and it was not busy based on the number of customers. However, I saw our waiter served us and worked behind the bar so he was constantly table touching while keeping us taken care of. All five of us ordered burgers/ sandwich from the 2 Classic Pub Burger, Classic Club, Impossible Burger, and a Bacon Jam Burger and everyone finished their burgers and sides without an issue and complaints. I would recommend as a extreme causal burger joint that's reasonably priced with no extra pizzazz.“

My coworkers got the turkey club with curly fries, the shrimp and scallop pasta, and the BBQ boneless wings with thin fries. The only complaint was that the thin fries weren't to his taste, but everything else was great! I rated the service 4 stars. Our waitress was great (though seemed new) but despite being the only folks in there, our food took longer than I would have expected. It was worth the wait though!We also played a couple games of pool. Their tables are clean and well maintained, and their cues are in good condition.Overall a great experience, especially for being there at 11:30am on a Monday!“

“I'm working out in KC area for work. My wife came into town to visit. We love dive bars! This place is great in every way. Bartender was friendly, attentive and funny. Had great conversation and felt welcomed! I'm a HUGE wing fan! I asked for extra crispy. Wings came out lightning fast. My first thought... "no way in hell these are extra crispy" Holy shit! Extra crispy, moist inside with a great sauce. Not too hot, not too weak. In talking with the chef, he says "I won't send nothing out that I don't like the way it looks or how I would want it cooked!" Pride in his food and it shows! Definitely a must place to visit whether a local or out of town-er like me! Thank you! Ps. Sorry no pics of food. We devoured it all!“
“Very cool room hidden off the alley. Had an Italian Beef (Jim's Beef) and had low expectations. Being from Chicago I was a bit snobby about anyone else outside of the Windy City doing an IB right. My apologies. Great sandwich. The bread was perfect. Tender, juicy meat. Giardiniera nice and spicy. My only gripe would be the lack of fries as a side. I had the jalepeno slaw and it was good, but fries are the natural side to a lovely beef. Will be back.“
