My friend and I celebrated our birthday and the waiter Jerome sang Happy Birthday to us. His voice was amazing. If you are celebrating a birthday always ask for him. “The Anter Room absolutely exceeded expectations. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavour, but the standout of the night was, surprisingly, the carrots. They were perfectly cooked with an incredible balance of smoky, sweet and spicy flavours – easily one of the best vegetable dishes I’ve had in a long time.

The dumplings were silky, delicate and generously topped with an addictive crunchy seasoning that made each bite even better. The scallops were cooked perfectly and paired with fresh, vibrant accompaniments that really let the seafood shine.

From the first plate to the last, everything was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully plated. Combined with the relaxed atmosphere, attentive service and great drinks, it made for a fantastic dining experience.

I stumbled upon Lonnie’s during my stay at the Ambassador and it was exactly the kind of authentic Kansas City experience I was looking to have while visiting. “Calling FIFA — welcome to KC. There are many great restaurants in town, but this is the best one imo. Fresh ingredients, elevated in-house sauces and dressings — Hemma Hemma has it all. Amazing and delicious food that is good for you. Owned by a woman who is a professionally trained chef. Doesn’t get any better. Great atmosphere downtown and Brookside. I was there the other night and a party of 6 effusively complimented the owner on their way out for the amazing food, service and accommodations. Top shelf — go there, FIFA people ❤“

“My boyfriend and I visited for our anniversary. our service was phenomenal, cocktails tasty, and the was in our top favorite meals we have ever eaten! He had the Pork Chop and I had Prime Rib! Very Good!!“

“It had been a while since we ventured into downtown KCMO, and we genuinely enjoyed the atmosphere. Overall, the food was good, though not quite at the level we expected for the price. One clear takeaway: avoid the fried items. We wish we had read the negative reviews beforehand, because the wings were unfortunately the worst we’ve ever had overly oily and lacking flavor. As a big wings fan, the execution was especially frustrating: the batter wasn’t right, the texture was greasy, and the seasoning simply missed the mark. The shrimp toasts were also disappointing—very soggy bread to the point that I felt it wasn't cooked in the middle.

That said, the “Japanese‑style” dishes featuring raw fish were much better. The sushi taco was a standout, and my friends really enjoyed the bone marrow beef tartare. For the main course, the scallop pasta had great potential, but the salt was heavy—particularly on the scallops and toward the bottom of the bowl, even after mixing.

On a positive note, the drinks, desserts and service were excellent, easily deserving five stars.“

They have fun and easy going servers, the food is terrific and diverse enough to please a large group of diners, and it’s all in a really nice environment that balances decor and vibe with practicality and ease of business. Take advantage of their happy hour when you can those deals are great, you won’t generally eat a meal here for under $30, but the price is well worth the taste and quality of your meal.“

“The food was absolutely amazing and we loved our waitress. I had the crab cakes, mushroom gnocchi, and carrot cake which were all fantastic! The only downside was that the portions were pretty small so even after my husband and I both got an appetizer, entree, and dessert we were still a bit hungry.“

“Local Kansas Citian....stayed this weekend with my husband and had an AMAZING time! The room was spacious and clean! Bed was super comfy, and it was actually very quiet! We could see the city life below from our corner room, but most of the noise was completely blocked out! The hotel bar and the terrace bar were both amazing! And breakfast at the hotel was to die for! We will definitely be staying again!“

“Staying at the Hilton Presidents Hotel in downtown Kansas City we stopped by the Drum Room located on property and accessed via hotel lobby or its side entrance. Good and atmosphere were so good we ate there 2 times. Started with Fried Goat Cheese and Beet Salad and finished with the KC Beach Burger with garlic fries and Meatball Farfalle pasta dish. All were amazing and didn’t venture far on our second visit and skipped the salad as the 3 items were way too much on the first evening. Second evening we shared a bottle of Sav Blanc from N.Z. Amazing.“

“We were at the ferris wheel and needed to have dinner after we went miniature golfing and riding the wheel. So I typed in restaurants with good reviews and this one came up. Super cute vibe and I loved the atmosphere And decorations! Loved their drinks and enjoyed the food. Portions are a bit small but that's something I think is probably normal- we're just used a large portion sizes in America. Not that that's a good or a bad thing. The only negative thing I would say is that the tables were a bit small. And despite saying anything negative, I really did enjoy our experience. I'm also a big fan of old buildings and this one is pretty cool. I would go again and I would recommend!“

We ordered the ricotta and the calamari. Both were very good. The atmosphere was less than pleasant.
