“We recently hosted a rehearsal dinner and welcome reception at Rye Leawood and we had an incredible experience. From early on in the planning process to the event itself, the experience was expectational. They went above and beyond. India, the Event Manager, was so helpful with the planning of the room design, food menu, and beverage menu. Everything I requested she delivered on - the perfect layout of the room to accommodate the rehearsal dinner followed by the welcome reception to the entire menu being gluten and dairy free. She answered every email in a timely manner and met with me multiple times to over questions I had. She was so great to work with. The food was delicious! Every dish from appetizers to desserts was beautifully presented and so flavorful - I didn't know GF/DF could be so delicious. We have received so many compliments about the menu. The service was outstanding. The staff was so professional. They know how to work an event - incredibly efficient and attentive. Our guests were well taken care of. The entire event ran so smoothly. If you are looking for a venue for your special event, I highly recommend Rye Leawood - amazing food, outstanding service and an incredible experience. Our event was unforgettable. “The Anter Room absolutely exceeded expectations. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavour, but the standout of the night was, surprisingly, the carrots. They were perfectly cooked with an incredible balance of smoky, sweet and spicy flavours – easily one of the best vegetable dishes I’ve had in a long time.

The dumplings were silky, delicate and generously topped with an addictive crunchy seasoning that made each bite even better. The scallops were cooked perfectly and paired with fresh, vibrant accompaniments that really let the seafood shine.

From the first plate to the last, everything was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully plated. Combined with the relaxed atmosphere, attentive service and great drinks, it made for a fantastic dining experience.

“I just want to say what a GREAT experience I've had dining at Hemma Hemma! I've been there twice so far, and have been consistently impressed.

This past week, I joined a friend for lunch, and we both want to formally thank Dana at the front counter for being so welcoming, gracious and helpful. I accidentally knocked over the menu holder, and she reassured me that it was fine and happens frequently. My friend and I split the bill for our order, and she cheerfully rang up each of our portions separately. She guided us through some of the menu options which was much appreciated as there were some new items since my last visit.

The food here is FANTASTIC!! I can't remember what I ordered on my first visit (but I do remember that it was delicious!); this week, I had the Brookside Buiddha Bowl, which was AMAZING! Even the presentation was wonderful (see attached photo)! All the ingredients were delicious, and the flavors melded beautifully, and it was so satisfying; it kept me fueled and focused during a long afternoon at work. My friend had the Pickle Chicken Bacon Ranch salad and said it was mouth-wateringly fabulous.

The weather was nice enough to sit in the outside patio, which is well-appointed (even a free water station); the first time I was here, I ate indoors and the dining area is light, airy, and expansive, with plenty of room between tables and quiet enough to chat.

Having such a healthy, delicious restaurant in the neighborhood is marvelous, and I'm already planning my next trip back to Hemma Hemma! Thank you all SO much!“

“I wish I could say that I had been able to go here. I bought my tickets and then realized that we could not make it on that night. Yes...I get it. You don't generally get a refund or exchange for a show. But. I tried for an entire week just to get a reply to my emails and voicemails that I left. I even called the front desk of the hotel who said that they would pass along g my request to reschedule. Don't get me wrong...I get that they may not be able to do that.. but a simpme reply of maybe.. sorry. Or..thank you for your interest. But absolute silence. I hope the show was good. I hear nice things about it“

“It had been a while since we ventured into downtown KCMO, and we genuinely enjoyed the atmosphere. Overall, the food was good, though not quite at the level we expected for the price. One clear takeaway: avoid the fried items. We wish we had read the negative reviews beforehand, because the wings were unfortunately the worst we’ve ever had overly oily and lacking flavor. As a big wings fan, the execution was especially frustrating: the batter wasn’t right, the texture was greasy, and the seasoning simply missed the mark. The shrimp toasts were also disappointing—very soggy bread to the point that I felt it wasn't cooked in the middle.

That said, the “Japanese‑style” dishes featuring raw fish were much better. The sushi taco was a standout, and my friends really enjoyed the bone marrow beef tartare. For the main course, the scallop pasta had great potential, but the salt was heavy—particularly on the scallops and toward the bottom of the bowl, even after mixing.

On a positive note, the drinks, desserts and service were excellent, easily deserving five stars.“

They have fun and easy going servers, the food is terrific and diverse enough to please a large group of diners, and it’s all in a really nice environment that balances decor and vibe with practicality and ease of business. Take advantage of their happy hour when you can those deals are great, you won’t generally eat a meal here for under $30, but the price is well worth the taste and quality of your meal.“

“Staying at the Hilton Presidents Hotel in downtown Kansas City we stopped by the Drum Room located on property and accessed via hotel lobby or its side entrance. Good and atmosphere were so good we ate there 2 times. Started with Fried Goat Cheese and Beet Salad and finished with the KC Beach Burger with garlic fries and Meatball Farfalle pasta dish. All were amazing and didn’t venture far on our second visit and skipped the salad as the 3 items were way too much on the first evening. Second evening we shared a bottle of Sav Blanc from N.Z. Amazing.“

“We had an excellent experience on Sunday morning of Mother's Day. We were just there as an extended family the day after a graduation and were delighted to be seated at a five person table in a semi private alcove. The service was swift and perfect. Our server let us know about the buffet as well as what items on the menu might duplicate buffet items. Our server complimented the youngest member at our table and found him to be very entertaining. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by the seating area and the quiet professional atmosphere.“

Great service and people that seem to love their jobs made our experience memorable celebrating birthdays & an anniversary. Food was excellent and the 10-layer carrot cake knocked it out of the park. Needless to say, we will back! Coming in from Wisconsin and ending our trip at Ocean Prime made the weekend!“
